Finding peace.

I work full-time in a busy career. Shopping gives me extra money to stay out of debt, save money and go on vacation. But sometimes, I feel like I'm juggling a lot. Even when I'm going on a weekend trip, I find myself looking for shops ... I need to just relax and get a break! What am I doing? Anybody else struggle sometimes to find good mental health with a busy life - which shopping is definitely a blessing to earn extra income on the side, so I'm not complaining. And it's fun. Still, it's a challenge.

I look for shops when we go away just because I enjoy doing it. If you don't enjoy it, make a rule for yourself to limit the days you will complete shops.
Yes, I'm obsessed. I'm constantly looking for shops. I need a break as well. It's been a long and troubling winter. Off to Mexico in a week for recovery and NO SHOPS...although I'm still looking, like a jerk.

I worked crazy long hours for the end of March and the beginning of April. I just looked at an email for a shop 10 miles from me with a $50 fee (including bonus) for Monday. I thought for a second, then deleted it. I am taking some time off for my sanity.
I used to do visits on the weekend and phone shops on weekdays. I realized I was putting a lot of stress on myself juggling weekend shopping, writing reports and then having to take my daughter somewhere fun. It was no joke getting home Saturday evening and stressing about reports. I have been sleeping so much better, enjoying the weekend and getting fewer headaches. I still do phone shops on weekdays and some on site shops that are actually fun with no long reports.
Soft addiction if you can't stop, but being 75% retired, I so enjoy my time to myself and enjoy looking to see if I can find something special via nice pay and do not do anything other than in my town. No stress, just be good to yourself, if it's stressful, not worth it. I am however, trying to schedule airport shops for my upcoming trip to Vegas....bring it on.

Why would you take time off for something you don't have

I know what you mean, I shopped regularly even when I had a full time job working 8-10 hours a day. I personally enjoy it and I love writing. The 12 hour deadline is the only thing I really hate about some MSC. If I work 8 hours and do my shop before or after work. I have very little time to write the reports as required. It will always be a challenge. Right now I shop 6-7 days a week, however next week I have NO shops (yet) so I am a bit worried. I am hoping to get some back up shops from people who were late. If not I will have find some small jobs on Field Agent. I have gotten so many free things, I am addicted! Especially since I am a bit of a princess, I like cosmetic shops, electronic shops, banking, housing, telephone shops...you name it I do LOVE it. UNLESS it is anything audit related, makes me have negative thoughts about my life!!!

Next week if NO shops come my way it is time for a SHOP free-lay in bed-Netflix binge week! I have shopped 21 days in a row time and do need a shopping break (if it happens lol).

I totally feel you on this topic. I work full time as well and have a husband that works full time but has PTSD from serving in Iraq.. I’m his caregiver through the VA so every few months I have home visits or phone interviews with them and I fit in shops where I can. It is overwhelming sometimes trying to juggle it all and make time for family and friends. I try to take a week off shopping when I start dreading having to go to a shop.. after a week I'm happy to get back to shopping. I think an occasional break can do the trick usually...
I understand! I have been pushing myself hard this month between shopping and my other 2 (part-time) jobs. I normally shop very "on the side" anymore, but I have already made twice as much as I have typically been averaging this month (which is only 2/3 over!). The shops have just been there for good fees, and I haven't been saying no! I am taking the rest of the month basically off, but it's hard to get out of the mind frame of pick up shops, make routes, repeat haha

Happily shopping the Pacific Northwest. Shopping since 2013 smiling smiley

I took two weeks off and am just starting to feel the sting of no money coming in later this month.
I usually take the weekend off although occasionally I will work on Saturdays. I do find that mystery shopping is like any other job, i.e. you have to take some time off once in awhile. I also work as a substitute teacher so some days I might sub only in the afternoon. That gives me a leisurely morning. I can sleep in a little later, and then maybe go online for awhile to look for shops. I often either schedule shops in the after school time slot in the community that I am subbing in or I schedule phone shops that I can do when I get home.
