What would you do?

So I was scheduled to shop a bowling alley which has 4 components; bowling, bar, food kiosk and arcade. The fee for this shop doesn’t nearly cover the amount of money spent but my friend and I always have a great time so I don’t usually mind.

I’m suppose to collect a receipt from each location for the report. We order food from the food kiosk which has a message that it doesn’t print receipts you would have to request at the front desk at the end of your game. This is also stated in the shopper guidelines so in my mind everything is fine. Our food is delivered, all is well. During our game we also made another order at the food kiosk for another drink.

Once we finish the game I get to the front desk and pay for bowling and request for a printed receipt for my meal. The associate only prints out the receipt for the drink and states he doesn’t see the food order we made. I check my bank statement, show that I was charged and asked him to confirm again. He looks and still doesn’t see it. The manager comes over looks in the system and states he doesn’t see it either and kind of just shrugs at me.

At this point I’m already at the counter an extra 10 minutes over a receipt that apparently dissapeared into thin air. I didn’t take a picture of my food or my order on the kiosk machine because I assumed my receipt will be printed in the front. Should I just explain exactly what happened in my report? I have no receipt for the food portion now and not even sure what to upload for that section.

I would submit a screen capture of your bank statement showing the amount charged along with an explanation of what happened. You can black out any info you don’t want them to see such as the account number in a program such as Paint.

I would reshop if possible. If not submit the receipt you have with a detailed explanation and a screenshot of the charge on the bank statement. I'm not sure what other options you have.
I wouldn’t redo an entire shop because the location didn’t provide a receipt. It happens sometimes. Just submit a full explanation and be willing to respond with additional information. If you have to upload a receipt image, just write on paper “no receipt given” and the details you know ($, date, etc).
