I'm hungry for money, not fast food.

First JITB started with a pay that barely covered the cost of the food. Now they want us to do the Bell for reimbursement only. I refuse. Give me a couple of bucks. I will not literally work for peanuts. Throw me some dough. I hope others will follow suit.

I've never seen the Bell done around here. I only work for tacos if they are good. Even Taco John offers a few bucks for the trouble.
They are offering reimbursement up to $10 but the taco meal is far less than that. Also it’s a vegetarian taco
I would eat a vegetarian taco over anything that they have with meat in it. Their meat has the consistency of canned dog food.
This job is for one taco and one taco only, not a meal. If they offer a drink you can get one. You have to take multiple (4) pics too. One is of the order board at the drive up window...How much can one taco cost at Del Taco? Maybe you are talking about a diff job. In my area it is Del Taco and it is for the new impossible (not meat) taco. The meat tacos are a little over a dollar so this one maybe is $2.50 for one taco???? Crazy lot of work to get just one free taco.
I took an Avocado taco from Del Taco and then they cancelled,,,they had tons of these along with the burger place.
Pay was good, but tons of pic's required. Glad they cancelled, don't need FF in my life at this time.

The instructions are not clear. It says to order a taco and then you may add a drink or meal if offered. I’m not sure what would be reimbursed.

I did not even bother to open the guidelines but the email just mentioned the possibility of a drink if offered. If it can be an entire meal with maybe an additional taco and a drink and whatever else comes with a meal the job would be more worthwhile.
This review site says it should cost about $9; of course it depend on your area. I see many are already taken.

I just reread the instructions. There is no pay. Reimbursement is up to $10 but you are supposed to order one taco only but can accept upsells if offered. The tacos are vegetarian or vegan using Beyond Meat. The vegetarian version is topped with tomato and real cheese. The vegan version is topped with tomato and avocado. With tax, one taco is about $2.50.

Even if doing a drive-thru shop, you have to go inside and evaluate the dining area and restroom.

I did a lot of Del Taco shops for the old company. Seems like it was a set fee with no reimbursement. But after they were on the board for a while, the fees would go as high as $40. I did a lot of $30 and $40 shops. There is no way on Earth I am working for a taco that's only going to be fed to my dogs. This is ridiculous!!!

The tacos are awesome.
I have had both versions at full price. Actually, I'd be happy to pay $4 each or more for anything made with beyond meat. I pay full price for the burgers at Carl's Jr. I think that they are $7 plus tax for just the burger.
The only place where I am okay working for food is California Tortilla, and that is on occasion.

I saw this and was initially interested because I want to try the fake meat taco, but when I saw it was reimbursement only, required four photos and you couldn't even get a drink unless offered...NO THANKS. I feel sorry for anyone who is desperate enough to take this.
A number of us won't touch these shops unless they reach a certain dollar amount. There is plenty of other shopping to be had in the meantime.

I'm currently in an email conversation with the scheduler. I asked if I could use a coupon to get a b1g1 free. Answer: NO. I asked if I can remove the tomatoes. Answer: NO. I asked if we get to keep the remainder of the 10.00? Answer : NO. I asked her why anyone would want to do this shop for 2.50? I'm waiting for her answer.

I'm actually more upset that they got rid of the turkey meat. I don't eat beef, so that was my go to for a quick meal. I'm not a huge fan of the Beyond Beef. I tried it as a burger and it has the weirdest odor.
One of my pet peeves is this type of shop where we can only order a drink or combo if it is suggested. Why penalize the mystery shopper if the cashier does not do their job properly? It also skews the results as some shoppers (of course no one on this forum) will probably inaccurately report that the cashier did suggest a combo so they can be reimbursed the higher amount.
Well, the shopper is being paid to abide by the clients shop requirements. The client wants to see if you are upsold. If not, the client should definitely allow you to order the combo and/or drink, but still reimburse you. The shopper just has to report whether they were upsold or not.

A pretzel shop I did was just as I described.

I only did JITB when they gave me 14/15$ and got (at that time) the smallest Jr., but not doing any more FF, I see it on my waist, and want to eat healthier as that voids any good eating I try and do. I have an amazing salad place I do up here, healthy and delicious with no rotation and pays for report. #no more dog food.

The job email I got yesterday said you could order whatever you liked in addition to the one taco and possible drink. I sent an email to the scheduler asking if the rest of what you ordered up to the $10 limit would be reimbursed now but I still have not received an answer. So perhaps they have changed it but then again, perhaps not.

As for the "impossible meat" I have eaten it several times. Last night on a newscast I discovered there are two different companies making this product. Beyond meat? is one and I cannot remember the name of the other but they had an IPO yesterday for one of the two biggies and the stock was bid way up.They also said that several larger food chains/companies that are featuring the product are experimenting in making it themselves and cutting out the middle man (or middle women). Just a thought are middle women related to Little Women? In any case when and if this happens the taste and texture could certainly vary from one source to another.

When you cut out the rest of your post this sounds really odd, LOL. I couldn't resist.

LOL@ dog food

Irene, I do a lot of food shops for the money. I portion out my meals so they don't sit on my waistline.

MSC emailed me back after I asked for clarification on the "up to $10 reimbursement" and said you could only order the additional items IF they are offered to you. For example, they MUST say, "Would you like to order x,y,z for only a dollar more?" or "How about fries with that?" Only then can you order what they suggest. If they do not suggest it, you cannot order.

Um, I'll PASS!!!

I went there today and used my app for a FREE taco! No reports afterward or crazy photos to upload. I will say it was quite tasty, but would not have been worth my time and energy had it not been free right there on the spot on the app! Thanks but no thanks!

They will learn that most of us wont do this shop unless we can get the full 10 dollar reimbursement and the freedom to choose what exactly we want to order. Maybe with the exception of having to order a beyond meat taco. They need to take a page out of the msc that does the pretzel shops on how to properly do reimbursement shops. I'm sure if they followed that msc's model; they would seldomly have shops that sits on the board for weeks. Another point against them is This msc typically runs very narrative heavy, except for the jib shops.

Shopping Idaho and Oregon/Idaho border region.
But some will do it for reimbursement only. That is who they rely on.

I would not mind doing the taco because it's literally right down the street but I would mind doing it if I have to take pictures and visit the restroom. If the taco is $2.50 and they do not upsell you, then all you are going to get is $2,50 for the shop. I draw the line right there! tongue sticking out smiley I need at least $8-10 for reimbursement. smiling smiley
They added a $5 fee to the reimbursement for Del Taco. Still not near enough for me to bite.
