Make an Offer Rant

Why do they bother with the make an offer feature if they are going to give you this response: The Make An Offer was declined.
You can accept the current price or decline the shop.

If I wanted to accept the shop at the current price, I wouldn't have bothered to make an offer.

Just in case anyone is curious, the current pay is $8.00 and my offer was $10.00.

End rant.

Sometimes they will take your offer, other times they won't. One time they took my $20 offer for a FF place. My last two requests have been declined. That's just how they do. But when they get realllllllyyyyyy desperate, then you'll have a better chance at getting your offer accepted. Your $2.00 increase request was more than reasonable. Sorry they didn't accept that, it certainly wasn't outrageous. Keep trying, though.
They should put some counteroffer into the system. I have not used priceline hotel bids in years but their site used to do that. If you bid too low they would come back with a counter offer that was below the retail price for the room.
I didn't think $10 was unreasonable. It won't even let me make a lower offer, I would take it for $9.00.
Not that any of this is a big deal, $10 isn't going to make or break me.

That's ridiculous. Sounds like a system glitch. I would call a scheduler and see if they can override that.

It's not a glitch. It's how the system works. I have had counter offers by email though. It seems silly over 2 dollars.
Trend Source sent me a message asking me to take a job. I asked for $1 more, they said no. I refused the shop. I guess the job wasn't that important to them.
I was thinking the same thing.

And I have made an offer for $80 on an audit that they had the fee at $20 and was accepted within a few minutes. Go figure.

It's not worth leaving home for $10. If you are already in the area for some other reason maybe.

I haven't been able to figure out how it works. I've had times I've made an offer of $1 over and it was declined. But then other times, I have made an offer I thought was outrageous and gotten accepted - like the time I offered $25 instead of the $8 fee for a fast food. Getting outrageous offers accepted has happened several times. I can't understand it.
I made an offer of $25 for the burger joint a few miles away. It was accepted. The offer I made for a different spot (farther away) that was $2 over ($18) was rejected. They ended up calling me a few days later to do the shop for $25.

"I told myself to quit you; but I don't listen to drunks." -Chris Stapleton
My Rant added to yours: How about when the BONUS OFFERED turns out to be a whopping $2! Really?
They are refusing every single make an offer that I make. My offers are for what they used to pay me and a few dollars less. Every one has been rejected. Too many shoppers? Maybe they are trying to lower fees again?
This business involves too much chasing around after shops to make more work over an extra $1 or $2, and then lose the shop because they don't accept. If I want the shop I take it at the rate listed. If I'm willing to do it but don't really care either way I make a high offer. Sometimes the offer is accepted.
Today I bid $19 cash for a Raising Canes next Saturday and it was assigned to me and on my shops list 5 minutes later. Don't give up it works sometimes. I was told the computer can not give you more then you have ever been paid for that shop at that location before. I had done this location for $20 before so I threw $19 at them and it went right thru.

I always give an outrageous bid. You just never know if that outrageous bid will be accepted. Of course Im not surprised when its denied. If you dont think that job will get snatched up by another shopper..wait till it either is raised to your 10 bid and take it. The jokester in me would want to get it for 15 or 20 though just for them being annoying initially.

Shopping Idaho and Oregon/Idaho border region.
If that's accurate, it is very valuable info. I'm going to try that at the first opportunity and see what happens.

And another ICA violation.

Where? The MSC was not mentioned.
There is only one company that has make an offer.
There is only one company that has PAD.
Pretty obvious,
But it's only obvious to people who are already signed up with those MSCs or who have read a lot of posts about them.
I thought there was a post with the MSC's initials in it. Then a client was named farther down. Either I was seeing things (quite possible) or someone edited it out.

Yes, but that's not mentioning the MSC. If you know the shop, you will know the company. By the same logic, we should not mention shop names either.
The forum member who named a client edited their post. It's possible that they had included the initials or name of the MSC in their post before realizing it and editing it out.

Got it!
An while back I MAO for $10 (Regular pay was either $ 8 or $ 9 I believe) and they took it. A few months after that same shop and same base pay. I asked for $ 10 and they said NO.

ETA: So even though the MAO icon does not appar next to the shop, can I still make MAO or do I need to wait till the icon appears

You can't make an offer on the site. There is no way to do that. But, you can call a scheduler or email through helpdesk and ask. I have done that before and usually nothing happens. I emailed helpdesk about a $20 audit recently and offered $28. It's still sitting on the job board for $20.

Edited to add that this was in response to Isaiah's question on how to MAO without the icon showing on the site.
