New Circle K shops, opinions?

I was disappointed when I saw Circle K shops that I normally love to do monthly now require a tobacco purchase and you can only get the required items it appears.. I used to love to pick up snacks for my routes with these jobs because it used to require a promo item but you could get whatever you wanted with the promo item up to $4. I don’t have any need for a tobacco item and don’t know anyone who does. Is anyone else seeing the change in these? I was trying to figure out if it was just my area or all over....

I havent seen the new guidelines yet. I did get the email from the scheduler letting me know there are changes coming. I'm on the East Coast. She said there were 2 different guidelines now. Tobacco? Oy.
Uh oh. I am in Great Lakes. I know that the midwest guidelines are different from Great Lakes. This might be a problem. I did notice that the last two months you couldn't get anything other than the required promo purchase, which devalues the shop considerably. I won't buy tobacco so they will have to find another shopper if that's the case.
Circle K must be done by different MSC’s in different areas. The ones I see in Calif are not like what is described here and are part mystery shop, part reveal. Purchase can only be bottled water or tea. Sometimes it is a small gas purchase and small item but that’s another MSC and the client is the fuel provider, not Circle K.

The Circle K shops that I have done for the past 3 years never required purchasing a promo item. The required purchase was always iced tea (which I bought) or a few other specific drink items from the cooler. It never changed. I haven't seen a Circle K this month. The reimbursement has only been up to $2.50, but at least I could drink the iced tea. I have no use for any tobacco product

Shopping Southeast Pennsylvania, Delaware above the canal, and South Jersey since 2008
OK I am probably good then, being Great Lakes and you being midwest.

Cease, you still can't access your old username?

They are likely shopped by different MSC’s although I only shop for one company. I’m in the Midwest region and there are 2 kinds of shops here, just the plain ole mystery shop which is what I always do and then they have the mystery shop/reveal shop... I never do the reveal ones so the shop I’m talking about is just the mystery shop not sure if they changed the reveal one as well.

I’m in the Midwest region so yeah you might be good! I have no use for tobacco either and they will have to find another shopper to do them for sure. In my area they get bonused pretty high at times because they struggled to get someone to do some of the locations with the old guidelines it will be interesting to see what happens now..
Nope. And it's driving me CRAZY.

I wouldn't mind buying tobacco, as long as the reimbursement was enough to cover it (the price of cigs is insane!). If I got stuck with some cigarettes, I know I can always resell them.
The ones I saw were regular but just added observing any tobacco purchases made by other customers, if any, while you are there.
I’m in the Midwest region and it appears the other regions weren’t changed at least the few others I checked out. You have to actually purchase tobacco for the shops in my area. They are all still sitting on the board, nobody has picked them up yet. I have plenty of other shops to keep my busy but I did used to love to do these because they were quick and easy.
I have been doing the Food Audits for about 3 years with a route of 50 stores per quarter and I got notified by the scheduler that they were ending. One of my stores let me know about the tobacco purchase age verification shops this morning and I believe that is with a different MSC
Yes, I believe there are at least a few different MSCs that do the Circle K shops... but only one MSC in my area atleast that I’m signed up with. The MSC does have food audits at Circle Ks in my area but I haven’t seen the age compliance tobacco shops for Circle K although I’ve seen other gas stations offer age compliance shops in my area. This shop isn’t an age compliance shop though it just wants you to purchase tobacco and a promo item.
