A question on the taco shop

Have you actually gotten paid the $10 already? I interpret "just" to mean in the last day or two. So, if you got paid already, that would be noteworthy just in that regard.

Wrong

I just did one and got the full $10 and bought the one taco.

This is horrible! Why would anyone do this kind of shop? I do the quick drive thru shops but only if they get to over $12. By the time you order the burger, value fry and water, you are only making $7 on this job. Not worth it for all the pictures and hassle unless you use these for route shopping or a lunch doing other assignments!
I have done some of this myself. the original offer is to reimburse you up to $10. Let's say you accept a combo offer and the total come to $8.50 (just for example), you get paid $8.50. Now if no combo was offered and you end up buying 2 tacos for a total of $4.40, you get paid $4.40.

I usually don't like doing shops that only offer reimbursement with any additional fees. At least add $5, $10 or $15 so it is what my time, gas and vehicle millage. So, yes, I have done several of these but not only for the $10 max reimbursement.
Well sounds scary! Like I said in my earlier post, I usually wait till there is an additional fee, in that case you could dare to "touch the shop" lol.
The message I got from the scheduler: Unfortunately you cannot order the combo or drink without being offered one.
With what they're offering, you're better off cutting out a coupon for a buy one get one free taco. The coupon would pay better and there's no report.
People are doing them! Lol. People love tacos. I saw they were all scheduled here - for no bounty! Do this instead: buy just one value taco. On the receipt there is a survey to take online. Pretend you are a mystery shopper. I think it's a $1 coupon off $3. Go back to the counter and use the coupon. Good enough. So ridiculous.

I was at this taco shop the other day. I got 2 coupons for free tacos just for chatting with the guys in the drive thru lane. No report required.
Who is the MSC seeing the client is not revealed? Sounds like a client that is not in my area.

Being there is so much contradiction over this job, I'v decided to do one today and see for myself. Getting an Avocado taco, and never having eaten there will show me if it's worth it...stayed tuned.
p.s. no one really does these jobs for the money, do they?

That's only if they offer you an upsell. If they don't (which happens often), you get paid for just a taco.

Irene is correct. If you read what she wrote carefully, she is saying that NOW there is a $5 report fee and you get reimbursed anywhere from $2.50 to $10.00 depending on if they upsold you or not.

So, taco only $5 + $2.50ish
Upsell, $5 + $8ish

Nowhere is anyone getting a $10 flat fee. That's just a mistake.
Your pay is still depending on the employee doing their job correctly. You're paid less if they don't.
Seems they all ask and I made 8.52+5.00. if they don't ask, you get one taco and reimbursed the amount of that+ the 5.00 report fee. there is no 10.00 flat rate. This is as clear as one can be....not brain surgery.

The pay is $5
The reimbursement is better if they do their job.

Your pay should not be cut for the employee not doing their job.
I see the fees are going up as the jobs sit on the board longer, just like the burger shop. Posting shops like this is sort of like a mystery shop auction.
I now see the shops going for over $13 for the fee, plus the cost of your order. I'm now doing them.
Jobs here are still 10.00, and there are tons of them, not a fan of the vegan meat.

There’s one in Santa Paula Ca now paying $25 plus the reimbursement of $10. For various reasons I never go to Santa Paula and I guess others shoppers don’t either
Did a few for $12 and $13 close to home. I'm a big fan of the meat and thought the tacos were good.
Just checked and the Del taco jobs are all gone (10.00). however JITB has more, a few close to me for 11.00, will wait till they go up next week.

Habit is number one for me but not nationwide. Also, I recently did a WFM bar shop (yes some stores have a bar) and their hamburger was fantastic.

@Kenasch....Do you have the latest "Hook", really good and shopped. Inn@Out was somewhere on the list. The best burger not shopped has to be Black Angus, due to the quality of the meat, unbeatable. I like mine medium rare, and all the others cook well done, not Black Angus.

Irene - I have shopped Hook but usually get the fish sandwich. They used to have a great steak sandwich but no longer. One thing about Habit and Hook, the reimbursement amount hasn’t changed for years. It used to go a lot farther but not so much now with price increases. I wrote the owner of the MSC but it’s still the same, as you know.
This is a good reason not to take a shop that pays you with a single taco for your work.
