AT&T Full Purchase Shop

I can't get the MSC to answer the phone so I can ask them so I was hoping someone on here would know the answer to my question. The description of the shop states that we are required to "purchase a cell phone or service." My question is this: if I already have PRE-PAID service, does the purchase of a phone compatible with the service I already have eligible for this shop? I pay for service for my grandson and he lost his phone so I figured if I can get paid to go buy him another, why not? I know the cost of the phone is not reimbursed if I keep it, just want to be sure I'll get paid for the shop.

The way I read the description, it means service or phone:

"This is a telecommunications mystery shop for which you are required to purchase a cell phone or service to evaluate the experience of customers signing up with AT&T"

I just don't know if a phone for a pre-paid service is a qualifying purchase.
Has anyone done this? They list $75 and $100 as fees, but I am not sure how much it actually pays. And, they could run your credit.
@Niner It's $75 base pay + $100 bonus at quite a bit of the locations. So $175 total. I wouldn't be surprised if the bonus keeps going up. It started much lower and has consistently been increased over the last few weeks.
What if your credit is bad and they want you to pay for the phone upfront? That would qualify wouldn't it?

What are AT&T's rules for returning a phone and cancelling service?
Do they specify what model of phone to steer towards? I am not sure I can get AT&T at my hoe address, but would be happy to try for the fee if I call the store ahead and make sure it can be done. (The answer used to be no, but the service maps says yes.)
I did the home phone version; was super easy. Paid $75 + $45 bonus. For the mobile phone portion ($75 fee and $100 bonus), you'll need to purchase a phone and sign up for service. If canceled within 3 days, MSC will refund all costs (including restock fees). Hope this helps.
