It assigned me a Mystery shopping job for stores that are not in my local area & I am instructed to email my report directly to rickwalter4566@gmail.com. and they are instructing me to by Reloadit cards and send them the pin numbers from the cards.

SCAM, SCAM,SCAM If you deposit that check your bank will not discover the fraud for about 2 weeks. Then YOU will be responsible for any amounts you have spent AND you may get put on a list of fraudsters that bank share. That may enable your bank to ban you and other banks to refuse to let you open an account!!!

Mystery Shop companies DO NOT send money in advance AND the average fee to new mystery shoppers may be about $5 to $15 NOT whatever they told you.

Unfortunately, the fraud is hiding behind the names of a respected MS company and scheduler, as they usually try to do.

Big scam, and it's not a new one. Did you sign up on Intouch Insight's website and fill out an application on their secure server, receiving a user name and password? After getting a user name and password, you then get either job offers via email or by looking at their job board on the website. After being accepted for an assignment, you view the guidelines and shop report on the secure website after logging in, which is also where you submit your report. Additionally, you do not receive payment in advance. You get paid weeks after the shop report is reviewed and accepted. Think about it--who sends a stranger a lot of money in advance in hopes that they will follow through and actually do the work? Like walesmaven wrote, the check will discovered as fake a few weeks too late, and you can be in trouble both legally and financially. Report the check to your bank manager and to the FTC. DO NOT DEPOSIT THE CHECK!!!

You should contact the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) or give it to the post master at your local post office since it's mail fraud.

Yes, this is unfortunately a scam and one that has been going on for quite some time. We see variations of it in the mystery shopping community but this one is just one that will not go away. Scam artists likely from another country, use our company name and logo and solicit individuals usually looking for opportunities on job sites. They offer to send them a package in the mail with their first assignment information inside and a fake check or money order for upwards of $2300 asking them to purchase gift cards and fill out a short survey. The catch is that they spend most of the money on the gift cards and get to keep a portion of the "money" for themselves. We do receive calls for this daily and it is heartbreaking to hear the stories of those who have fell victim to the scam and their hard earned paychecks being taken away from them.

Unfortunately mystery shopping companies can also be the victims in these scams. Intouch Insight is a legitimate publicly traded company and we offer opportunities through the shared platform I Secret Shop. For more information you can review our website at www.intouchinsight.com and under the mystery shopping tab, if you would like to register to be a mystery shopper, you will be directed to the I Secret shop platform as that is what we use to advertise and schedule our assignments as we all pay our shoppers.

As previously mentioned, we have asked all individuals who have encountered this scam to report it as a consumer scam to the Federal Trade Commission. You can contact them directly at 202-326-2222 or on their website at www.ftc.gov.

If you have any other questions about this scam or our company, you can contact me directly at fmitchell@intouchinsight.com or 1-800-734-5213 ext 232.
