"Reco" technology shops?

These shops, offered by one of the biggest MSCs, have always seemed to go begging for shoppers in the two states in which I shop. They start out low and by the end of the month are usually bonused, but the most I've seen them at is $20 to $25. This month there are several around here at $35. Is there a problem with these shops in that apparently people don't want to do them? The company's lower-fee cellphone and TV shops get snapped up (although even those are going unfilled until bonused), but these sit.

There's one near me that's past its due date and it looks like it would be worth the $$ to do it. In fact, it doesn't seem as difficult as the ones where you're assigned a specific model and feature set. What am I missing?

In my area, they added a 90-day rotation for each location, so they stay on the boards longer here.
I haven't done one, but I have never seen any shops with this MSC that were very difficult and generally their is very little narrative involved. In fact, being able to use the app to report them makes them easy and I would snap it up at $35 if you don't have to drive far.
I dissected the guidelines and it looks like the typical shop. On Saturday, I applied to do a shop on Sunday, and requested that they let me know by noon on Sunday. On Monday, I received the overdue email.

I did these they were pretty easy. The only problem is that with one it was a large location and I waited the appropriate amount of time listed and put myself in line and STILL did not get helped. It could be a larger busier location that is harder to do a shop. It happened to me...
Are these the ones were you have to pass a test first?

I tried to do those when they first came out and there was no link to take you to the test. There was an earlier thread aboug how confusing it was. No response when I e-mailed the scheduler about it. She finally e- mailed me back after my due date.

It also only had 3-4 questions in the report and she said when I passed the test the rest of the questions would show up.

I didn't do the reports because I was only in the area one day.
The shops are not difficult and $35 would be a good fee for them. $20 to $25 is fair for the number of questions and amount of work necessary (including pictures). Depending on how you answer some of the questions on the form, other questions appear.

I would not apply for a shop that is already past its due date. The same shops will have new shop windows usually.
I have seen them in my area and have not done them as I don't know what has to be done. What is "Reco". Will someone please just post what needs to be done on these shops? Thank you.
Usually you can look at the guidelines on the website before applying. It's easier for you to do that than for anyone to list the steps of what needs to be done.
Reco = Recommendation
I do a lot of these. I find them easy. For me, the higher fee is justified because of the rotation requirements. If I can't visit the location again for that or any other MSC for 90 days, I want the fee to reflect that.

I did one today. The app failed, so I had to do the report at home. It was a typical shop. It required a pic of the model number, tag and tv for both recommendations.

These disappeared off the board for a couple of days (didn't even appear as taken and apply as back-up), but reappeared yesterday. I was too late for the one just down the road from me! Darn.

That’s alright, BirdyC. With the rotation requirements, you are sure to get one sooner, rather than later, if you stay on the lookout. Easy shops & good MSC!
