Must give up app & phone reporting

Unless there is no option such as Feild Agent or shops that need to be submitted within hours. I have tried. As much as I love the convenience of having no reports to do when I get home, it just is not working out. I have used apps such as MobiAudit and the like, in the last year, and have had more reports returned to me for clarification than I have had in the last 15 years combined, and almost all were submitted through the phone. An easy Prophet report came back with a question and when I read over my small narrative, the words did not even make sense! And I had proofread it on the phone before submitting! I think the phone is just too small for me to see and read, leading to stupid mistakes. This is not good for my reputation, the MSC or the client. I will revert to the old-school note taking onsite and computer reporting at home (or on-the-road library) whenever I can. Have you guys noticed more mistakes with smaller screens?

When you click onto the text fields to type in your answer, you see the keyboard at the bottom of your phone screen right? Do you see a little microphone to the left of the spacebar? Take a peek.
Oh yes, I speakwrite all the time. Sometimes it gets changed or the phone doesn't understand me. Then, if I can catch the mistake, I still have to backspace and redo . My biggest problem is numbers on the small keyboard.

Would it help you to have a phone with a larger screen? Can you go into settings and adjust the font size to 'huge'?

I use a Samsung Galaxy Tab A- 9.7 inch screen and I like that it has the speech to text option in there so that I can dictate to it. Then I go back and read it after I dictated for each answer and make any corrections necessary. Other than that I'm a carry around a Netbook with me which is a couple inches bigger than my tablet but with an attached keyboard and iI can turn the screen and fold it on top of the keyboard so that it becomes a tablet so far I like that the best. I do have a wireless keyboard for my tablet too that acts as a casing case.

I use whatever I feel like taking with me and go somewhere where the odds am electric outlet & free wifi or i tether the connection through my my cell phone.
Hmmm. Tablet. I was considering that. I can make the phone font huge but then I can't see what I'm typing or the end result until I close the keyboard. Then open it again to try to make Corrections without seeing the screen. It's an endless cycle. I think it's just my fat fingers and eyesight that are not as good as you young'uns. Even with glasses. It's just me, though? I feel lonely now and a tad inept.
I am an oldster. Sometimes, I remove my glasses and bring the screen close to my face. I figure that anyone who notices probably lumps me together with all other old folks who drive the market for adjustable phone lanyards, squishy cradles for phones in gnarled hands, etc,... grinning smiley Most likely, no one notices...

Despite all the hype and the sales pitches, I don't think a phone is really suited for some of the things we try to do with one. I either use a tablet or a laptop, sometimes both. Never the phone, although I may take some backup pics with it on a gas station audit or something.
I pick an choose what I do on an app or my phone. I do almost every MarketForce shop on my phone. Most are yes/no check boxes with no words. Those get reported and submitted on my phone. Same for MobiAudit shops that don't require narrative. For sassie and prophet shops I will sometimes do some of the report on my phone but even if it's complete I still wait until I get to my laptop and proofread before submitting. It really speeds up report time doing it that way.

Yes to the above! I can do yes/no, images, and a little alpha-numeric data entry on the phone anywhere. When I get home, I can do narratives on the computer. Once, there was no time to switch. I turned in a sloppy report at the last minute. It was accepted, but...

I think that the apps are a great idea but only when they work correctly. That being said there are just too many glitches for me right now and I stopped using them about a year ago.
I do most all reports on phone or tablet but wait until I get home to read over them on the computer before I submit.
When I do speech-to-text I will sometimes have my headset plugged in so that the mic on their helps to eliminate any background noise if I'm any place doing the report. I have found this to help with eliminating strange words at times that shouldn't be in the report. But yes you need to proofread it very well before Sunday. I will sometime sit there and proofread it or I'll wait till I get home or someplace where I can pull out my tablet or laptop and use the Wi-Fi log in and double check before sending.
I will start looking into tablets. Never had one, only a laptop which seems bulky at times, especially in a small car. Definitely the phone screen is just too darn tiny for me. Thank you all.

I can't see squat on my iPhone 7. I had an iPhone 6 plus that was perfect. I'm due to upgrade, so I am getting a big fat plus again.
OMG! I knew that the MarketForce website was faster than the app but I didn't realize how much. I just whizzed right through a report with minimal flippy spinny stuff that the app makes you wait for on every page.
