Circle K Reveal Audits

Anyone do these? I'd appreciate any information you can give me. I was thinking about grabbing a route of them but have never done one. Since you can't mystery shop them afterwards I'd like to make sure it's worth it.

Not sure it's the same company as I think they may be shopped by several MSCs, but the ones I do are a pleasure and pay is prompt in the beginning of the following month by check.

For me personally, it is too much work for $14. I did it once, never again...but if your like to count, go for it grinning smiley
Hi Ms Judi. I wish I knew what company you speak of because the one I speak of has one of the slowest payrolls in the industry, although I have never had to chase a payment down.

Mysterious ways, thank you. I had a look at the photo samples and guidelines. This looks like at least an hour of work followed by having to go home and do the report because this company doesn't use apps that I know of. I agree with you. Too much work for the money. Maybe if they get to $25.
I have done them with a MSC who pays 30 days after the end of the month that you do the shops. My April shops got paid at the end of May. That doesn't seem like a terribly long time to me, maybe it's a different MSC. I always wait for them to be bonused. I did some of the food audits for $40+ each (I think it was $44?) and they were only 20 miles from home. I did 3 of them one afternoon and was done for the day. If you see them sitting on the board for awhile you know why. They do take about an hour each to do and there is always a learning curve with the first one. Oh, and the MSC I did them for now has a new requirement of photos being required (not sure how many photos, probably anything non-compliant), so now I will hold out until they are $50+ each. Oh, also, though the MSC I do the shops for state that you can't participate in the mystery shopping program if you do the audits, they do allow you to shop a specific location again 6 months after you do an audit there.

Edited to add that this MSC allows you to use the Mobi Audit app and is on the Shop Metrics platform.

The ones I perform are easy, pay 14.00 plus a reimbursement for a drink from the cooler. The only minimum onsite pic is of the building and lot. Others I think if there are issues in certain areas. The questions are easy, I can submit the report via their website from my phone. Oh, an a pic of the receipt. I do not perform the unrevealed gas station shops so the reveal is not an issue. To me, it's 15 minutes at the most on site.

The complicated gas station shops, in my area, pay less and require a lot of pictures and observations. Most are a reveal shop anyways as they require you wear a safety vest, take pictures of everything, and provide a LOA in many cases or situations.

I've done hundreds of the inventory ones and dozens of the gas ones. Once you get used to what you're looking for, they take about 20 minutes. For the gas ones, I will not touch them for under $15 generally unless I'm only doing one and going pass it anyway. Then I might do it for $10 or $12.
I was specifically asking about the food audits , checking temperatures and expiration dates type thing.
CQ, that is not the one I do for Circle K. The ones I do are the ones described by isaiah58. I haven't seen any food audits or I've ignored them. Not my cup of tea.

That's the one I was referring to. Roller grill temp where you record the temperature reading of the grill and also have the store associate insert a thermometer into the food to get a reading, etc. It's good to know the size of the store and types of food they have because the bigger stores that have pizza and other foods take a lot longer. Plus trying to time it right when the store isn't too busy so you can get the mgr or associate to help you, thst mskes it go faster. Wait til they are bonused.

I do the $14 ones in my area whenever they can. They start as a very simple mystery shop, then turn into an announced audit where you count the number of missing items in several categories. No temperature measurements. One location I do does not sell gas, does not have a roller grill, and does not have a public restroom so the number of observations is even lower for that one.

Thanks you guys. It's very interesting that they have so many different types of shops and audits.
Def interesting that a few different MSCs are doing them. The MSC I do them for has locations in the Midwest and Great Lakes and maybe a few other regions, but obviously not all of them. I primarily do their mystery shops at locations close to home but I will do audits at the locations a little further away when they are bonused nicely (and of course I rarely do any shops there).
There is an app and if you have a smart phone you can complete it while sitting in your car. It has never taken me more than 20 minutes from start to finish.
When I speaking about the revel job I thought you were speaking about the job where you buy something cheap(your cost) and then take 6 pictures. The roller grill job does take longer but they too can be done with the same app as the others.
There is more than one MSC for this client. Not all of the companies are shop metric based, apparently, and they do not all have apps for report submissions.

The MSC that does them in my area does not have an app.
