Big Oooof...

Hey guys! Definitely made a mistake while shopping yesterday. Has anyone ever gone and done a mystery shop at the wrong location? I did that yesterday and feel so dumb lol. Never going to make that mistake again and definitely going to triple check the shop address form now on.

ANYONE who has been in the business for very long has done that at least once, and, probably, more. Email the scheduler to see if the location that you shopped needs to be shopped and, if it is assigned to another shopper, whether that shopper would trade with you. You never know !

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
We have all made our share of mistakes. I have been shopping for about 18 years and even after all this time I screw up occasionally!
I did a complete audit at the wrong convenience store. 2 hours wasted and my biggest mystery shopping L. lol
Just last month!

I did that and defended it right until the moment a light bulb hit and I realize there was another carpet store on the other side of the street. Bad me. Liz
I went to do Whole Foods today and they moved to a much nicer bigger location a few blocks from where they were. so glad I found them, much better, place takes up half a block and has everything.....what a find.

Have you noticed MF has dropped showing landmarks in the CPI and no longer asks for updates. I thought hey were helpful to get to the right location. Maybe too many were not accurate though.
I went to the wrong location one time....sat in my car, wondering why my the shop requirements weren't matching up with what I was observing... It was hot out, I was cranky....20 minutes of heck, but I was able to get back on track.
Last month I went to the wrong gas station, took all the pump pictures and then realized when I got back int h car, that I had done the wrong location.
Just moved on and it cost my $5 in gas of my own money. Big deal but I did feel stupid.
Especially if other shoppers were using nearby businesses as landmarks since those can move or go out of business.

I shopped the right store in the wrong state (lol). Both towns had the same names. The scheduler let me reshop, and now I do more double checking of addresses.
This is where my OCD kicks in smiling smiley

I check the address on my iPhone map when I arrive, scan for an address posted on the building as I walk inside, and then triple check the address on my purchase receipt before starting the audit portion.
I wish more businesses had an address on the building.

I have shopped inside when I was supposed to shop the drivethrough. Too late to correct it.

Last year I shopped 2 of the same gas stations. I mixed up the reports and realized after submitting!

Was able to straighten it out.
Ever try to figure out which of the 4 parking garages on any given NYC block is the one you have to shop? I’ve NEARLY shopped the wrong one dozens of times but somehow never actually gone so far as to shop the wrong one.

Seriously, nobody cares that you're offended.
Parking garages! Yes, you have to find the right one on a busy City street while keeping all six of your eyes on surrounding traffic, pedestrians and other unknown obstacles. And you can't just stop to look around because you'll blocked traffic. And yes, why don't businesses have addresses on the outside? Especially fast food places. It would be nice if the bigger business had an address posted so you can get an idea of exactly where you are on the block.
I scheduled two grocery stores while on vacation, and went to the wrong one first. So I ended up doing one store twice! Luckily we needed the beer anyway smiling smiley
Yes, I have had this same issue. Recently where the building did have an address I found once parked and walking but when I drove by in heavy traffic the address was blocked from view by a large delivery truck parked in front of the building. The lot entrance was on a totally different street and had no address on it. I took a chance and went down the ramp and fortunately it was the right garage. This area has diagonal crosswalks and heavy foot and car traffic so you really have to concentrate on not hitting someone while driving rather than checking for non existent addresses.
Many home and office building owners assume they no longer need to post addresses on buildings because of GPS but GPS does not accurately tell you exactly which building is the one you want. A high rise will not have a posting on the outdoor signage of all the tenants inside.
As for recording the next door businesses I found that helpful on the msc that did that but it was so often an annoying thing to remember to check for their jobs with measly pay.

Best bet for me is usually to use Google street view so I can see what the building looks like before I drive there since Waze is not always reliable. (It sent me the wrong way 2 times in the past week.)
In my little area, some landmarks have changed for the local Market Force locations. It is a small town with only one of almost everything, so newbies here might go three miles or less out of their way if they take a wrong turn. I feel for shoppers in other areas!
