How would you handle this?

First, this was not a shop. I just thought it could be quite the conundrum for a shopper.

Standing in line at my local BP I take notice of the cashier. He is wearing a branded polo shirt with his name embroidered next to the logo. The logo was for Mobilsmiling smiley

No problem if it was a shop. Check off "not wearing appropriate uniform" And indicate "wearing Mobil brand shirt" under type of shirt question. A possible (unacceptable) reason for the BP employee wearing a Mobil shirt is that the station was recently re-branded.
So much for an attempt at humor. .

I do a lot of gas stations and have seen most every thing. Including the situation you described, except the attendant was wearing a collared shirt. The answer was as I described. Sorry I missed your humor.
I have a story, but it does not involve a gas station or BP Mobil.. It was a shop where managers wore polo shirts. A person who was wearing a logo shirt with another restaurant's logo was in this other location and acting as if they owned the place. Well, maybe they did own this place and another one, too. I never found out what had happened, but since you mentioned this...

Hey he was wearing a shirt!

That's good otherwise he would not have been able to take care of the customers. You know "No Shirt, No Shoes, No Service".
I did a Starbucks shop the other day and the guy at the register, who was also the manager, was wearing an ATT&T polo shirt.

A new restaurant opened a few years ago. I visited shortly after it opened. It is called Picca Polo A La Brasa. Half of the staff wore shirts for Sardis A La Brasa. They have several locations in the area. The manager was wearing one of the Sardis polo shirts. I looked him in the eye and stated how similar they were to Sardis, then asked how they were affiliated. He said they were not. I looked at his shirt, and said "Oh, that's weird." He would not look down at his shirt.

Sounds like your guy works several jobs and needed somebody as observant as you to let him know about the shirt.
