What is the logic here? The Panda is self assign, no need to bid. Since the same MSC limits us too two of their grocery shops per client, and the grocery shops are snapped up quickly, there is no route available here.
I am referring to grocery shops by several other MSCs that I do. I can easily string together five or six a day if I wanted to, including a Sonic, cell phone shop (which I never take), or [insert filler route shop].
I know that Panda is self-assign when the are posted. My point was, if stated unclearly, was that I'd be willing to do that Panda shop on a grocery/filler route for "free" if they gave it to me for sure at a future date. In other words, I would want that shop locked up before it ever hit the boards and would be willing to do it for cheaper, because it could be one of the fillers on my route that make it more profitable.
Pandas in my area disappear the day or two after they are posted usually. It wasn't so much about Panda, itself, but just any shop that could be like that. Basically a desirable (to me) filler that I'd be willing to do for less, but it has to be given to me at an exact date and before others can take it.
I do feel the "getting it before others" part could be unfair and I'm not sure what others think about that...??? If it's known that we can underbid or ask for shops in advance (i.e., everyone knows), then that would seem fair. Some schedulers send emails asking us to schedule in advance. I always take advantage of that.
But, I've never done that when there hasn't been that invitation. And I've never underbid.
