Fun Side of Mystery Shopping

Just felt like sharing . . . . Did my first ever mystery shop at an amusement park. If employees upsold me on a beverage, they received a $50 gift card on the spot and their manager also received one. One employee received her gift card and as I was walking away, she ran to the back and I could hear her screaming and then all of her co-workers cheering. At another stand, one employee was so happy that she was dancing through the back area. Even after I left, I turned around and she was still dancing.

Has anyone else done these types of on the spot shops and had similar experiences? I always thought they were weird and never signed up for them, but so glad I signed up for this one. Hoping to perhaps get more of these in the future.

I always loved rewards shops, it's so nice to make someone's day like that! It's been a long time since I did one but I would happily do one again if it was convenient for me.
I did an instant rewards shop at Church's Fried Chicken in July and the entire crew shared in the instant win. The manager got a double award. they were all ecstatic.

Shopping Southeast Pennsylvania, Delaware above the canal, and southwestern NJ since 2008
I did an instant reward at a Carl's jr. Once. The employees were all so excited and they were all high-fiving the one who helped me because he got a little bit bigger gift card and then they got a smaller one and so they were all real excited. Those are always so nice.
I agree, but it is not so nice to do one where they don't win and you have to give the an UPPS! card and have them argue that yes the did upsell you.
i did one where the staff did not make the objective and they were PISSED at the young man at the counter. PISSED!!! i thought i was gonna have to save the lad. the kid appeared to be the youngest of the staff and the only male. the rest of the shift could not have been fun for him. i never even knew what the incentive was.
I've only done a few, but I loved them when they won, but hated it when they failed. I know that stores fail and pass all the time, but having to be the one that breaks the news is not fun. I'm glad you had such a good experience!

Shopping the South Jersey Shore
I actually was gonna ask "There's a fun side to this?" -- but yes, I must admit, I would enjoy giving out $50 rewards.
Around 4 or 5 years ago I was able to give a $25 gift certificate for a successful audit that met all expectations. I only gave out 2 but it was probably the best time that I had mystery shopping since the employees were so happy.

Done a zillion of them in my area.......since 2013. I like doing them and I can bring family since they have a pass to the one I shop. It is nice to come back and have the manager sign the paperwork and let the employee know they did a good job. The look on their face when they get the envelope with a gift card is great. One time I had some woman get it who only worked 1 day a week because the other days she was a caregiver for someone. It is always interesting to see the reactions of others once the person gets the card(s). A few times I have had employees say how they saw me in their line but I was called to someone else's (TRUE) or any one of other comments. It feels great to give someone cards that might be worth more than they got paid that day. It is also nice, every so often, to have someone NOT get the cards because they messed up. This way the MSC and Client see I am not "rubber stamping" people but paying attention. Overall these these visits are nice - I have 1 more left on my schedule
Did this Saturday. Did 6 visits and 5 of them did their job and got a Gift Card. One did not and I don't feel bad about it at all. 5 did their job and got rewarded...........1 did not and also got what he "earned"
I did this shop at Six Flags in July and it was fun. Knocked all six stations out in an hour or so and got to enjoy the park for the remainder of the day for free.
