The scheduler canceled the job and put it back on the board with a $10 bonus for some other poor shopper. At least the scheduler canceled the job before I wrote the report.
I was born in San Francisco, have been in L.A. since 1970 and still miss the beauty of the city, the weather no, the rain, no, but the feel and sophistication of the city, yes, although it has changed and not for the better....the prices are crazy. I loved Marin County.@wwin wrote:
AMORASMOM, I left Bay Area 30+ years ago. I do miss the golden hills, rainstorms that last for days and frozen windshields on rare extra cold winter mornings. Things I never get here by the beach in So. Cal.
That's too bad, seemed like a good idea.@shopper8 wrote:
Irene, about a year or two ago, time goes by fast, Massachusetts started the bike rentals, they were everywhere, libraries, bus stops, beaches, etc. Didn't work out, people were leaving them everywhere they felt like it. Some were stolen (of course), others thrown in ponds, just a nightmare. This was a Japanese company, good intentions, used an app, paid with your cell app, to unlock the bike. The bikes became a menace!

The 405 closed completely? That is a first.
If you turn on Google Maps, it will divert you from traffic nightmares.

@teriraia.....I live off the five and one lane has been closed all year, used to take me 20 minutes to get to Encino, now I only do jobs in my town, just doesn't pay anymore (regardless of what the others say). My town is growing so much with many working over in L.A. adding to the problem. I have to take both the 5 and 405, no wonder I complain and with no bonus's, well.....Schools are good here, so that speaks for itself. City is growing, more value for your money.
Added: the new business is renting bikes at various locations like the library, trying to get more to bike ride and ditch their cars, great idea with our warm weather....we also have Paseo's for walking, enclosed bridges going to the mall over the highways, funny thing, we have tons of parking and no meters in the whole town....go figure.
Newhall Land and Development is really responsible for the growth, they own all the land and make a profit for everything that's built. I like it here, but not the summers, definitely a cold weather girl and also not much to do in the evening.....city life is more to my liking.@tstewart3 wrote:

The problem with Santa Clarita is every city council person gets into office with the promise of zero growth. As soon as they're in office they switch to allowing Developers to put up as many homes as possible. The weather was great but I'm glad I left.

This is a community for families, but love how easy it is to get around and "park", and safe.

I have to wonder if he was really an employee? He had a ripped shirt and he did not even show you the storage unit? Did he have a name tag on? I wonder if the real manager was in the back?

Right by the 710 interchanges if it was north of the 110 or 105 it would have made more LA news I'm sure. It was technically Long Beach, a place many LA people would never venture to. [ktla.com]
