P.O. box sizes ?

Hi All,

I may have bought the wrong size boxes for my shipping shops (regular). They are 14X14X21. They were the smallest the store (walmart) had. I looked at the guidelines and it's not clear.

It says: "To avoid going above the maximum $ reimbursable amount:
▪ The required package size MUST be 12” x 12” x 12” or smaller."

So is it the weight that is important or is it the box size. I'm well aware of the weight requirements, but if I can make these slightly larger boxes come in at the right weight is that okay?

Your boxes are too large. They height x width x depth cannot be more than 12x12x12. So you can have a 14 inch side but you will then have to lose 2 inches somewhere else, etc. What works well for me is to take my smaller boxes from Amazon, open them and turn them inside out.
You can cut the boxes down. It may not be worth your time to do so. Your boxes are too big. The clerk is required to get out the measuring tape and measure boxes! If your box is too big, you will NOT get paid for the shop. This isn't "maybe", it's a certainty.
Okay thanks guys. I was willing to pay a little extra to save me the hassle of returning them but I guess it's off to walmart I go.
Do you not have Staples? You can buy small boxes there 8x8x4 for about 75 cents each.
You can also use manila envelopes (plain, padded and bubble). I’ve been doing these forever and just using the envelopes instead.
I use the envelopes as well. I get a 12 pack at Walmart for a little over $5.00, it comes out to 45 cents each.
The closest staples is 15 miles away. I am playing Santa so I needed boxes. Apparently walmart was just sold out of tiny ones when I was there before. They had them today.
If you use a box that is 14 x 1 x 14 let alone 14 x 14 x 21, you will pay for dimensional shipping. It imputes a weight based up0n volume. You may be shocked (yes, shocked) at how much the cost goes up. It will not be a little bit more. And if you are doing the mystery shop, the shop will flat out be rejected. You can order 12 x 6 x 6 boxes from Staples via the internet and the cost works out to be 48 cents each (the last time I ordered them).

Shopping Southeast Pennsylvania, Delaware above the canal, and South Jersey since 2008
I always ship to the furthest area so i cannot get reimbursed for boxes. If anyone you know gets their meds from express scripts they send them in poly envelopes. I slit the envelope near the top but not all the way across then I can put whatever I am mailing in it and fold the envelope over so that it covers the printed label, then seal it up. Voila, a poly envelope that is fairly large. with no markings. Collect these from anyone on an HMO who gets their meds in 3 mos suppliesat a time by mail.
