Recording app?

Good morning - I am in search of a new recording app for my phone. I use a Note 9, and downloaded the "voice recorder" app for it, but I find it to be TERRIBLE. Repeatedly it cuts out at the MOST important times - maybe because I turn off the screen, or maybe because i use another app or I don't know what. But, anyways, I am now dealing with a report which will all have to come from memory. Thank goodness at least I got the exact greeting recorded.

Does anyone have a really good app for recording on the phone for ms'ing?

Thank you!

I suggest using an old phone to record. I save my old phones and can still load apps with WiFi. The phone does not have an account for phone or text but still works. It's also a great backup for pictures if your phone konks out in the middle of shops too!
And as has been pointed out many times, before you start recording, determine if you are in a single-party or two-party consent state. If you are in a two-party consent state, you are committing a felony if you record a conversation without the other person's permission (and get it in writing). And as always happens, this warning will attract comments that say that it has never happened, so don't worry. Frankly, I choose to worry. It is up to you.

My voice recorder app stops recording after I use the camera on my phone. I wonder if that is what happened with yours? I record with my phone and take pic's with my husband's phone.
I use the PCM recorder app. Make sure your phone is set to airplane mode or your recording will be interrupted. Also, set volume on high.
Even the pay apps will cut out unless you put your phone on airplane mode if it rings or gets a text or something.
I use Easy Voice Recorder on my Note 8. I like it so much i used Play Credits to buy the pro license. Works like a charm.
TapeACall Pro costs $11 for iOS, but I've easily made it worth the money over the years I've used it.

I used the voice recorder that came on my LG Android phone when I that was the only phone I had. But even on airplane mode, it did cut out if I used the camera. Now I have an Iphone and just take my old LG and record with that when I need a recording.
I don't have any issues with Easy Voice Recorder cutting out when I do anything on my phone. I use the camera all the time while it's recording.

ETA: It's got an editing feature as well as the ability to upload to the cloud from the app. It's easy to set a file name before you hit the record button. I usally name mine with the shop name and location.

This question has been asked so many times, and my answer is always the same. PCMrecorder.
