Western Union shops - Have things changed?

Just wondering if anyone here has done one of these WU "money transfer" shops recently.
They're on my 10-fott pole list, but wondering it things have improved, or is it still the same 10-foot pole?

They have gotten much simpler, assuming you don't go when the place is packed.

I did one in 2015. It took 4 months to get reimbursed. They are still on my 10 foot pole list.

I have no issues with the assignments. I am the one who gets a little antsy when I have to be credible as a person who is asking about an illegal activity.

Right. These I hardly ever do. Too awkward.
I never know what the scenario is until after I have accepted the assignment.

I've done the send and receive ones where they assign you a partner. I absolutely love those. Ive also done the one where they want you to send then cancel..never again..took over an hour to get my 25 dollars back..huge hassle.

I used to love the ones where they used to assign a partner. It was $50 per shop. $30 for the send portion, $20 for the receive. I banked a lot during this project. I made so much money during that project. Too bad they don't do that scenario anymore.
No way I'm going to send money, tell them I'm going to cancel and want a refund for that amount for payment.

@Jenny Cassada Yep. That's why I pass on those lol. The silly things some of these MSC ask us to do sometimes lol...
Thanks for the input everyone. Looks like they'll remain in the 10-foot-pole list.
I sure wouldn't want to have to wait around 15~20 minutes for the clerk to process the refund. And if a refund is not obtained at the store, the go through the hassle of requesting the refund from the MSC.
The scenarios with the questions that make you seem like a twit are extremely quick to complete. When you reach the service area, you ask a few questions, remember a few details, and leave.I think they now want a couple of pix which are easy to get. A line might add a few minutes. Otherwise, these shops take a few minutes on-site and a few to complete. On an hourly basis, you could earn the equivalent of $60 - $70 per hour. But that would be better if the shops were still at $20 and your hourly equivalent were $120 - $140 per hour. But the embarrassment! People might hear you saying those things! Or see you... and think you are a nitwit... Alas... Is there such a thing as embarrassment pay? grinning smiley

I did two of these last Saturday for $16, and with the waiting, each took about 25 minutes. Not bad as part of a route. But, I learned that WU keeps all of the information about the money I have sent forever. The clerk knew when, where, to whom I had sent money years ago for the previous MSC. I am permanently disqualifying myself (actually, a 480-month rotation seems good to me). I went to do another today for more money and got treated as a senior about to get scammed. I can understand why. I am backing out of that shop, with an explanation to the scheduler.

I honestly dont mind these inquiry shops..not a ton of money but they are relatively quick. I remember when I did the send and cancel one awhile back..the cashier was telling me that she had a customer who she knew was getting scammed..she kept sending someone she never met some crazy amount..I dont remember the exact amount..but lets say 1500 a month for illustrative purposes. The cashier told me each time the customer came in...I really think your getting scammed and the customer just kept sending it regardless.

Just editing this to add..after completing one of these recently, I think the requirements have become tougher and 10 dollars just isnt going to cut it for me moving fwrd. I dont think I would even add this to a route. Having done quite a few shops now; I dont think I will do this shop for less than 30 dollars next time around.
