Do you get paid if an app does not work?

I had a fast food shop that required me to use their app and order online. I tried using the app on my phone, but my order would not go through. I tried 7 times to place my order, but the screen never left the order screen. I was hungry and went inside an made my order anyway. I did not submit my receipt, because the order was never made thru the app. Would the company have paid me anyway, if the app did not work and I went inside to order?

I have used their app before. Sometimes it works, sometimes my order goes through but the place never received the order.

I had this issue with the Wawa app about a year (?) ago. It often never submitted. I took a screenshot on the phone. I was supposed to tell the store if there was a problem so they could fix it (as they would for any customer). they never could. I always got paid.

Do you have the option option of ordering from their website?

Since you did not name the client, no one is going to guess what the requirements are.

Some of the scenarios I am familiar with only allow ordering via the required App. Orhers clearly state "online, via website or App." None allow ordering any other way. Most have additional instructions; as to how many attempts (3 in most scenarios) and if a phone call is required to determine if the location is aware of any issues using the website or App.

As you can see, if you have not read the requirements then you should not attempt to perform the shop.

That was not an option for the ones I did. App only.

Out of curiosity, does Wawa even have online ordering? I have never seen it on their website?

It's dependent on the project.... For one of my online order shops, the project manager's known to respond within minutes of any emails sent. She ended up just changing the scenario to in-store order and she took care of it on her end on forwarding the app issues to their client. Then there's other MSC's and straight up state to not proceed with the shop and either reschedule or submit the shop as not being able to complete it due to app issues for just the fee; no reimbursement for anything.

I was ordering from their website. The app takes you to their web site.
The shop was for Market Force. From past experience, I think they would have denied the shop. I'm wondering how others would have handled it.

In that case, they're pretty set on their guidelines. If it's an app shop, it's an app shop. If the app doesn't work, there's typically instructions to just submit it like a closed location. Again, it would be detailed in the guidelines. Either that, or reschedule, especially if the shop's simple and a good reimbursement amount.

WaWa has app ordering. Their app is awful. Your order is supposed to push to the kitchen when you enter the store, but it rarely does.

Their MSC had an app ordering shop a few years ago. There were so many issues, it only lasted for a month.

I am surprised, the shop was approved. According to the guidelines, if the app does not work, you're not to go to the location. They asked for a screen shop of the receipt, but since my order was never sent, there was no receipt. I explained this to them, there was no receipt. They approved the shop.
I did one app shop a few weeks ago for a different company. There were no instructions about what to do it the app failed but it did say to familiarize myself before doing the shop. Well I did but when the day came the app kept failing. It told me my credit card was rejected and then dumped me out and I had to start all over again. It also was not bringing up all the screens I had to order from. It finally got to the point where I could not put the order in during the lunch window so I abandoned it and did the shop the next day. I had a window of several days. The next day the app worked perfectly and even liked the same credit card from the day before.

You appear to be manipulating the situation. Based on your original post, you went inside and ordered. Then you say you did not submit the receipt you received. It appears that you submitted the report as if you orderd online and had an issue receiving the receipt. If you had answered that you ordered in person, the survey does not let you complete the submission. If you say you ordered online, then say you did not receive a email, finally saying you called to confirm they recieved your order, then you can continue to submit the survey. From there the next manipulation is saying you asked for a receipt the required one time, but they did not provide it. I am not sure why you would come here and share how you were dishonest with the MSC?

I would have submitted the shop with explanations. I would think they are testing the functionality of the app.

I did not receive an online receipt. Once it was clear I could not do the shop, it was over. I was on my own time after that.
