Funny story

I did a gas station shop today and was reminded of the first time I did it. This is in a state where they sell liquor at almost every gas station.

It's early in the morning. I finish my outside observations and walk into the store. I look for the bathroom and don't pay too much attention to anything else. The clerk sees me walking through the store and tells me it's too early to buy liquor, that they can't sell it until a certain time. I'm a little stunned. I ask her why she would assume I'm there to buy liquor. She says, well, that's all we sell here. This is a liquor store. I look around and sure enough, she's right. I laugh and tell her I thought it was just a regular convenience store, and that I assumed she thought I was some kind of hopeless drunk there to buy liquor first thing in the morning. The guy behind me says, well, that's what I came in here for.

I recently signed up to do a tour of a winery. It was a brunch tour. I, for some reason, assumed it would be brunch mid morning and the winery tasting afterwards. Then I looked at the schedule and saw the wine tastings were at 9 AM...Two flights in fact anf brunch after. I know people drink early in the morning but all I want is coffee at that time.
I see bars open early in the AM. A long ago favorite bfast Mexican place (not in business anymore) had groups of guys sitting around at 8 AM eating their breakfast with a huge number of beer bottles on each table. So, not so surprised any more.

sandyf, did you do the 9am tasting? It would have been an experience.

For people who work night shifts, having a drink early in the morning would be their nighttime.
Yep worked the night shift for years and the local bar would have quite a few of us at 8 am. That is when the night people have their cocktails - usually nurses and police. Yuck I don't even know how I did that now

Actually it was scheduled for two weeks from now. I had to move the date and that was the only date available so I cancelled the shop as my guest could not make it...it required a guest. I am not a big drinker but I can do a wine flight. But this had two wine flights each for two people and I realized none of my friends I might want to invite drink much so I would have to volunteer to drink all of their wine too. Not at 9 AM for me.
Oh wow! That sounds like it could be a wonderful shop!

Her in Eastern OK we have a few wineries. But never can find shops for them that's probably because this is a backward state we just go liquor by the drink a few years back. But at least we can get stoned now if you have a card. I'm looking forward to a cannabis shop. For my cancer, you know
