Cruise Line shops

I found the MSC that has Royal Caribbean cruise shops, are any of the other carriers shopped (specifically Disney)?

It's a laborious process to get assigned the shop if you magically meet to demographics....and an even more laborious process to report the assignments.

The cruise line has some very stringent standards that they expect from customers. I can't imagine Disney would be any better, though.

Cruises are so cheap. I’d just pay before I did that report.

Right! I can can do a dozen parking shops in my neighborhood that would basically pay for my share of a one-week cruise....and then I can drink as much as I want on the cruise, and have a window in my stateroom...and have a guest that was born in a different decade, or country!

Yes, doing the numerous surveys for that MSC and that client will keep you busy throughout the cruise, not to mention before you even set sail (if you are smart and begin writing the pre-sail narratives immediately after the required interactions/confirmations) AND after your cruise.

Thanks for the heads up everybody, they sound like they're more trouble than they're worth.

I've said this before in other threads, but many think cruises are the most coveted shops. I disagree. The shops where you get sent to a resort and only have to evaluate the meals are WAY better.....

I worked a contract for one MSC before the recession of 2008. It was nice because I chose the cruise line and the itinerary. My airfare and my guest’s airfare was paid in full. I was also allowed to bring the kids. I only evaluated the casino. It was prefect. I also got to keep the winnings.
I’d never consider doing a full-shop of a cruise for less than $1000 fee. I get $500 for a two day hotel any weekend of the year. It’s like doing a week long hotel shop.

Only evaluating the casino on a cruise ship AND keep the winnings...my idea of a good shop...if only???

That sounds too good to be true! Maybe some day I'll find those shops. One can dream..

Didn't say I wanted to do it. Just said I found the company. I wouldn't spoil a cruise with a shop. I vacation to enjoy myself, not time personnel, evaluate the environment and all the other stuff involved with a mystery shop. The report I'm sure is a pain in the backside.

Which is a big issue I have with the shops. I have no issue working for my vacation, but as a regular cruise guest I can choose to completely avoid the buffets (which is where a majority amount of those illnesses get spread). As a shopper you have to go to every single outlet and report on food/service, as well as hygiene practices...

But it's nasty other people I worry more about!

If you like to write, the cruises can be worth it. However, I've had good luck finding some great deals on recent cruises that make shopping them far less worth it, especially since both companies have ceased paying travel costs. They did help me get to elevated status with the loyalty programs, though.

Watch for cyber Monday cruise deals and Valentine's Day cruise deals if you're thinking about one.

Every one of the cruises I have evaluated resulted in the credit for that cruise being removed from my account. Unless you are doing a competitor cruise, I doubt you will get credit for it....

I kept my credit.

I kept my credit, too. With one cruise line, you get credit for one day only. With the other, you keep the status.
