Home Depot Pilot

Has anyone done (or at least read the full description of shop requirements) the new HD shop that is being offered at $50? That seems high for the MSC, but that may mean that it is difficult. It includes photos of 6 bays, a purchase, and a return. Few other details are available without accepting the assignment.

I talked to a scheduler about it. It seem you have to find and buy 8 specified items and buy them for $200.00 and then return them.
Barbage - Thank you for the quick response. That means $6 per item, plus $2 for the return. Might be reasonable if I could just go and look for the items (you can find exact row locations using their app), but if it means asking for help 8 separate times, it could easily end up being 2 to 3 hours just to get help and "find" the items. It would probably be fine if "customer service interactions" means just the cashier and the return process. But it could also mean that you have to find 8 different associates and interact with them. It was often hard enough to find 3 associates for the old-style shop. If they call e, I will have a discussion to find out before I jump into doing one.

You also document any empty spaces in the bays. These are large items so the scheduler I talked to said it's not difficult, but it is part of the job.
Just did my first one tonight. It was a little time consuming but not that bad. I waited the bare minimum for the return (10 minutes), and the entire visit was just about an hour. You only have to speak with one associate. The instructions say to try and locate all 8 items on your own. I expect my time to actually improve now that I know where to locate the items. It was really rather easy. The report is not very time consuming with very little narrative.
I decided to accept one. Now that I can see the requirements, it looks reasonable. Only one mandatory interaction, although others may be required. I am going to look up the SKUs in advance so that I know the aisle and bay that they are supposed to be in. I will also know stock levels so that I can anticipate issues. Then plan a logical route through the store. If it goes well, I will do another store. Every store has a different arrangement, so I will have to look up each SKU for each store.

Oh, I didn't realize every store has a different arrangement. That kind of stinks...figured I'd be moving along quickly after getting one or two under my belt. The items added up to $180 for me. Why do you ask? I didn't think about that at all considering I just returned all items 10 minutes later and the $180 went right back to my credit card. myst4au...fyi, the two deck lighting products were no longer carried in the store I visited.

Can someone pm me what msc it is? Thx!!

If they do they will be breaking both their confidentiality agreement with the MSC and the rules of this board. Please do not ask anyone to do this.
How do I find out then?? I shop full time and do many many Lowe’s and have not seen any Home Depot
Most frequently you learn because you are signed up with many companies and check their job boards or are contacted by their schedulers by emails to alert you to available shops. You also sometimes can spot ads on the job board that mention the shop in your area or others.
I just signed up for one of these. How many can you do? Wouldn't they get suspicious if you are buying and returning the same items at multiple stores?
Very possibly, since most retailers these days keep track of who makes returns and what they are returning. This is part of an anti-theft campaign. Do you really want to be flagged as suspicious?
If you are paying cash I don’t think it would matter as they don’t ask for your license?
The shop specifications require that you use a card, "... purchase up to $200 in products using a card (debit/credit) payment from the below provided list..."

Oh seen I have no idea who the company is I didn’t know but no I would not do more than one if paying by card
If you tell me your zip code, I will check and see if the pilot is being run in your area.

Two in Charleston, 1 in Summerville, 1 in Mount Pleasant. I am not sure what distance from the zipcode the MSC uses. Are you signed up with the 15 most discussed companies (as listed at the bottom of these pages)?

I can easily change the search radius for Sassie shops. no idea how to do it for this MSC. Maybe you have a zipcode search issue due to an old profile. Do a custom search using the zip code you provided.

I believe so. Is it sassie?

If you have your receipt when doing the return, I don't think flags will be an issue, regardless of how many returns are done.
I did them last year so was happy to see them again. I did one yesterday. Home Depot will email and print the receipt if you put in your email address. I took a picture of my receipt in the parking lot while waiting the ten minutes to do the return. The shop was easy, the hardest part was finding the stuff. Make sure you take the pictures needed. The return was easy. There was an email updating some of the skus and instructions yesterday

I have seen these shops offered by the same MSC that offers "Yellow" and "Blue" gas stations. If that is a violation, I'll remove it.
I'm just wondering if the amount to purchase has to be so expensive. Could the shopper buy the cheapest items and perhaps, only total to say $50?
