Texas Roadhouse

In that there are no negatives for me, the question is not why I shop TR, but why would I not complete the jobs?

I feel the same way. When I occasionally browse other cities, I am shocked to see so many TXRH shops not taken. In my area, they are gone within minutes of posting.

Do you do Long Horn shops, s-bob? I have started seeing those for a different MSC. My dad is a huge fan of LH and mom loves TXRH. I'm just glad I can take both out to places they like.

I'm personally more surprised people do other shops, but not so much steakhouses, as we love them in my family.

1 appetizer of savory and a pinch of sour flavored crispy, fried pickles with a cold, zesty ranch dip (great contrast of temperatures) ($4.99)

1 medium-well juicy, tender, and flavorful 8 oz. sirloin ($9.99 every Wed.)
--1 side of hot, fresh baked potato with sour cream, butter, and chives that has steam rising out of its center and hitting the tip of your nose when you cut into it to eat - the butter melting into all the cracks and crevices (mouth watering)
--1 side of ice cold house salad (served on a cold plate) that is fresh and healthy - dressings are whipped up fresh daily

unlimited hot, fresh baked rolls with cinnamon butter (we always take an extra basket home)

What's not to love? mmmmmmmm

If you haven't eaten for half a day or so (or not a good meal), then just start to imagine the above. It will start to sound like a bit of heaven!

Shoptastic inquires--Do you do Long Horn shops, s-bob?

Bob's reply--My last Longhorn was 10/07. As I recall, I was given seven days to complete the job, paid $10, reimbursed up to $30 and no guest was required. I also think, but am not certain, the MSC was exclusive to both Longhorn and a subsidiary. I do not remember if the MSC just vanished or they notified me the shopping program was being eliminated. Assuming there have not been radical changes, I would not hesitate to apply for their work, as I quite enjoyed the visits.
I'm a former Scheduler. I had monthly shops at multiple locations for a steakhouse bar/grill (NOT Texas Roadhouse). It was often impossible to get people to do the shops, no matter the location. Often I had to resort to using the same people over and over again and pay them bonuses on top of full reimbursement for dinner for two. To do this day I've no idea why no one wanted to do these dinner shops. The restaurant was very popular and again food and drinks were fully reimbursed. Still, no one wanted to do it.
The reason I don't do these shops is I need money, not a high calorie meal that I should not be eating. I could try to eat healthy but there is too much temptation at a place like that so I avoid it.
Dear Fellow Shoppers! I love the salmon, and the other seafood choices. I really like taking a guest when I probably would not take that person out on my own dime. I recommend going and trying the seafood. Love, Night Owl atbn10:23pm

We just went. I ordered grilled chicken, broccoli, and green beans. It can be done. You don't have to order fried food or eat tons of bread.
It's important to note that the requirements are not static, even by location. At our nearest location it has gone from 90-day rotation to 45-day and back, more than once over the last 3 years - seperate from waving it near the end of the month. It's also gone back and forth from a 45-min to an hour required seating time, and they used to be 6PM at the earliest for both the bar and the dining room, where as now it's 5PM for the bar and 6PM for the dining room. None of our locations ever require you to order a steak or an alcoholic drink. You have to order an entree at the dining room and an entree or appetizer, with any kind of drink, at the bar. I've also never had a bathroom check on any of mine, whether at the bar or in the dining room. And we rarely have a bonus over $5.

Similarly, Sandy Shopper said it's 8 shoppers per month, but I've never see more than 2 dining room or 2 bar shops available for the location nearest me, meanwhile they're begging for people to do one that is 2 hours away, and offering rotation waving, at the end of every single month. The location nearest me is packed pretty much every lunch or dinner shift that it's open, so maybe they don't bother having as many shops, because they never end a month with that location incomplete.

My sister loves TRH, but she's a steak eater. I like the food okay - I generally get a grilled chicken sandwich, since they took bone-in roasted chicken off the menu - but the noise and crampedness of the place mean I'd only ever eat it to-go without some incentive. And yeah, even if you keep the bill down, the required tip (not that I wouldn't) makes it near impossible for two people to eat there for under $25. But the TRH shops let me take sis out to an occasional dinner, generally with leftovers, and spend about $10 out-of-pocket. And though their customer service is exceptional, I hate when we can only get an at-the-bar shop, because at 5'3" I have to climb up into those stupid stools.

Also, our TRH is next to our theater, so we'll often do a TRH mystery shop before going to see a movie. In fact, we went a week and a half ago, to dinner and a double feature of Jay and Silent Bob. smiling smiley It's one of those cases where I'm not doing it to make money so much as to save a bit.
I prefer the bar shops as the report can be done quicker, no calling ahead, etc. You can also dine solo at the bar which would make a nice meal totally paid for.
