Last mattress shop I did a few years ago I thought I would have to call 911 to get out of there. I felt like I was in a hostage situation, If I did not buy something they were not letting me leave. Never again.

I've been avoiding these for years. But I recently did two because I told them I'd do them for $35. It was accepted and while time consuming, they're fairly easy. I will not do one for less than that since you're really in the store longer than they claim you're going to be.

Are these the ones that are now at $10 and require a pre-visit phone call? And you have to stay in-store at least 30 minutes? I'm shopping a bank that's literally across the street from the mattress store, and I won't even consider doing that shop.
This has to be one of the most ridiculous shops ever. It has to break down to $5/hour by the time you download and read the guidelines and survey, make the phone call, drive to the location, spend 30+ minutes in-store, drive home, and fill out the survey. Even if you can do the survey on your phone, it's still time. Let's see.... By the time you pay your half of the self-employment SS, figure your overhead, etc., you're down to about $3.50 to $4.00 an hour.

What real customer waits up to an hour to be helped? At a mattress store no less. LMFAO The sales presentation yes 30 minutes to 45 minutes average time. 29 simple questions. Hmm are they yes/no or a line of narrative. Small commentary. Don't forget to explain each no.
So my take 10 minute wait have never waited personally more than that on a mattress shop, 30 minute sales pitch, 30 minute report, 10 minutes for guideline survey review. 80 minutes total time minimum not including drive time. $30 seems like the right price at lowest. $8 not even if I lived at the mattress store.
Just out of curiosity what is the store or MSC. Please only name one not both.
Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
The one near me is at Denver Mattress; I'm not sure, but I think those stores are part of a larger chain that has stores with other names. But not Mattress Warehouse, which is shopped by a different MSC (and which I don't do unless bonused, but at least the base pay is higher).

Denver Mattress, I have shopped and believe me with bonus for much higher rate. It is part of Furniture Row and they actually are good mattresses supposedly. The same MSC that has Denver Mattress also does Sleep Number. I have also shopped them. I have also done Mattress Firm like Birdy stated for a different MSC. There are some other mattress stores I have shopped like Metro Mattress. The lowest I have done is $20 when I was new to them and naïve. $30 my low and has to be actually easy not what the scheduler calls easy.
