Uh-oh, better get...

Saw this new shop to get an estimate for paint services or body shop work. The fee is $10. In my experience, with an appointment, one can easily wait an hour minimum for such estimates for even simple work.

I have no problem with a $10 fee on top of a reimbursement type shop, taking maybe 20 to 30 minutes of my time on site.

So, has anyone shopped this kind of client and see value in the $10 fee?

So many of these shops just don't seem worth it. You have to read the guidelines, drive there, perform the shop, drive home, and then report the shop, all for $10. That's less than $5/hr.
Isaiah....I got a chuckle out of the title of your thread, and new IMMEDIATELY what it was about! Anyhow, about a year ago, this shop came up and the ONLY reason I took it was because hubby & I had discussed the issues on our car. So I figured since we were curious about what it would cost to fix it anyway, I may as well get an estimate AND get paid for it. But it did take a good 45 minutes at the place. The write up was quick. But as I recall, the pay was only $8.00. So don't know if this is the same company, but if I were to do it again, yeah, I'd want at least $20 minimum.
