Video Mystery Shopping- Tips Please

Good morning people and happy Thursday.

I came across a Video Mystery shop at an drive through I wanted to try. Before I signed up for it, I asked what will be the way to put camera so the company can see every thing but not my face. They told me and I did a trail run at an different restaurant to practice.

When I tried to upload the video from my phone to gmail and to drop box it would not upload for some reason.

What are the best ways to upload a video from a cell phone to drop box or gmail?

Your question is vague, but I will answer what I think you are asking.
I upload video from my phone to a MSC company dropbox all the time. You need to click the MSC company's dropbox link. Then select the video file from your phone, fill in the blanks on the dropbox upload page, and click "upload."

As for uploading to gmail, it could be that your video file is too large for gmail.

You can use a service for large files like wetransfer as well.

When I began considering audio/video assignments, I chatted with a gal who was the MSPA shopper of the year. she candidly shared that fees were beginning to drop. I purchased my PV-500 in Aug. of 2009 and what she mentioned indeed occurred. This afternoon, though, I think it hit the bottom with an offer of $20+ an $8 reimbursement for either lunch or dinner.

The higher paid apartment, new home, etc, video shops are still out there. Base fees about $45 to $75; more for distance.
Also, the price of the PV-500 gear needed has come dawn from over $700 in 2009 to about $350, less if you get a discount at an IMSC conference. So, it takes far fewer video shops to pay for the rig.

I do not do restaurant shops of any sort with video, btw. They seem always to have substandard fees for video.

Bob's reply--No. My primary reason is that a video assignment can, in my experience, go bad much quicker than a traditional shop. There are equipment failures, poor framing caused by a height disparity, and upload problems to consider. Secondarily, I am not desperate for money and will not don my shirt for less than $60. My last two video dining jobs paid a straight $84 for Skyline Chili and $40+ a $40 reimbursement for myself and a guest at Fazoli's.

For the best answer to that, contact one of the big video shopping MSCs, like Clear Evaluations. The detailed specs on the DVR AND the camera will be what matters as to whether or not it produces industry standard video. Most of us who video shop are too busy to keep track of which versions of the DVR and/or camera are currently both reliable and meet industry standards for the video product. PV-500 models change very frequently and have done so for well over 10 years, hence, the problem of keeping up.
