Crazy travel shop

This mystery shopping gig is crazy. One day you are doing a $6 shop for the “free” sip of gas, the next day you are getting paid $1100 to hop on a plane and go to a Home Depot for batteries and such!!!
Anyone have good tips for a completing shops that you travel to? Extra pictures? Backups? Things to keep in mind? I have never done a big route or gone more than 40 miles for a shop before.

I have not been offered $1100.00 to fly and get batteries? This is one MSC I would like to get, hope it's not a scam.

Live consciously....
If you do a search on "route" or "routes" you will find many posts dealing with how to take baby steps toward longer, more profitable routes. Start with profitable single day routes and work up to one overnight stop on a 2 day round trip route.

Far more tips when you do a search. Usually there is more than one route shopping session at each IMSC shopper conference, btw.

Shopping from the Carolinas to New York
Have video cam; will travel

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
It’s a shop I have done quite a few times by a reputable MSC. Believe me, I checked my fee summary before I bought the ticket.
Well congrats. I would take a few extra pics at different angles to make sure you have a good pic for each pic you need. You are obviously familiar with the shop so you would know best what you need. Don't forget receipts for travel if needed for proper reimbursement. Hopefully it is flat fee with huge bonus. I would enjoy the trip but you could add shops in the area or at airports flying to and from. Check Customer Service Experts for those.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
Get to know the name of an employee at every store in case you need to call them and ask them to take a pic you forgot to get. Write a checklist of every pic and count and when you are waiting the 10 minutes to do the return, check off your list.
Brilliant idea about getting the name. I drove to the next big box store and completed most of my report while waiting the 10 minutes, just to make sure I didn’t forget anything. I am on the flight home and the editor has already asked for a minor clarification. I had the notes and pictures and resubmitted. Thanks for the tips! This for sure was my biggest shop.
Glad it went well. Let us know when it gets accepted. We do like to hear success stories on here.
