You have to take a photo of your food now.

In the spring of 2006, I began shopping Chase credit card college student locations to verify the contractor was working. Included in the shop's guidelines, was $5 for an OPTIONAL pic of the building's exterior. In the spring of 2019, I received an offer to complete a video assignment at an eatery that REQUIRED up to eight pics. I declined, as there was not any possibility I could remain anonymous after using my large Kodak in the drive-thru, dining area and men's room.

The point of my post is until shoppers conclude enough is enough, companies will continue to demand more and pay less. I, in no way, criticize any MSC for that approach, as it is the responsibility of contractors to operate their business profitably.
I'm so glad you posted this because I didn't even look and I have one today. They also require a photo of the order slip, which is awkward since it's supposed to go in the basket when you pick it up. AND, only 5 toppings allowed. The photo of the item is kinda annoying because now I can't do a bunch and give away the food. I'll still pick up one or two of these but not like I was before. (Also sitting here wondering why I'd schedule a shop right in the middle of the time I'm watching the Mummer's Parade lol)

Thanks for posting! Not a big deal for me since I just grab these for lunch on the way to the office. So simple, and a good value in my opinion. I would have missed the new requirement though.
One of the local stations in Maryland airs the Mummer's Parade! I went once when I was in college. It was an experience.

I received an alert that my order slip was missing. I didn't understand this either. I told them that I turned it in at the counter.

I don't know what a "Wa Wa" shop is, but I always take photos of my food out of habit (and to look normal) whether it is a shop or not.
AZ, WaWa is a Philadelphia based convenience store. They have awesome coffee and great sandwiches.

I grew up in Philly and lived all over the country. "What's a WaWa" is not an unfamiliar question.

Honny, I asked and it's the slip that is attached to your hoagie. I think they should have really highlighted that there actually are new requirements because they've been saying it for months and it hasn't changed since they took away the coffee requirement. I love the Mummers, I used to live right by Broad St where the original parade route was and it was like an all day block party with hours of entertainment. It's one of the biggest things I miss since leaving the area.

@AZwolfman This is a convenience store where you can only take your food to go. I would often just peek to make sure it was ok and then drop it off to a quasi food bank type place because I did so many and there's no way I can eat that many hoagies lol. It's not a huge deal, just will not sign up for as many as I normally would.

Jenny, where is the parade now?

I am so glad you asked about that slip! I also found it odd that they would require a slip that you have to turn in.

I uploaded the box receipt. My report was approved. Thanks Jennie!

Honny, It goes around City Hall where the main "display" is and then down to Washington Ave. It has a route on Broad, but not like how it used to be. They also have stands instead of chairs, but everything changes. smiling smiley

It probably affects the timing. They used to be a lot faster.

I believe there's a WaWa in Berks County that has seating. It's a huge one, and the kitchen/ordering area looks like a restaurant. It's always mobbed with people getting food, and it smells so good! But we've never had time to get anything made to order, so I don't know how good that is. Their ready-made stuff is good.

At least I think I've seen some seating there.

The nearest WaWa to me is around 30 miles away. sad smiley But there are several once I get past that distance, and I stop at them all the time when traveling. I need to figure out who the MSC is, since I never knew till now that they were shopped....

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.
I just had one of these and realized they attach a copy of the order slip to the sandwich so you don't have to take a photo with the slip you put in the basket if that helps!

Yes, it's the slip they attach to your order that you have to submit. By the way, that slip also has the prep time on it.

The only potential problem I see with this is the part about asking for it if they don't attach it. That would be a dead giveaway that you're a shopper. In fact, if I was a Wawa food prep person and suspected you were a shopper, I might be tempted to not attach it just to see if you asked for it.

I have always been given the slip, except one time. Now that it's required, I'm trying to think of a reason to ask for it if I ever have to. So far, no luck. Any ideas?
panama, your order slip prints after you finalize your order. You use that to pay. You don't have to put it in the basket when your food is ready. If you don't have an order slip on your purchase, keep the one that you used to pay.

The MSC sent an email to shoppers with a description of the new requirements. It would have been nice if they sent the email prior to the new cycle. I guess a lot of shoppers did not take pictures of their food and order slips.

But that's not the slip they want. They want the one that is taped to your order. It lists the toppings.

You can ask, but ICA agreements and forum rules prohibit us from answering. If you do some digging on your own, you can probably find out.

My order today did not have the slip attached to the hoagie. I noted this in the short narrative at the end. I submitted the one that I paid with and it was approved.

These guidelines are very new. I think they are still getting worked out.

It is not rare or them to give me subs without the attached slip if I am the only customer in the store. BTW, the "take a photo of the hoagie" requirement tends to come and go.

There are a few Wawa locations in Delaware County, PA which got licenses to sell beer. That requires a seating area, so some have been remodeled to have separate eating areas. Only some locationsn are large enough for that remodel to even be possible.

I thought State Stores were only allowed to sell alcohol.

@panama, I forgot to add that the order slip I used to pay for my hoagie did not have the ingredients on it. If they don't put one on in the future, I will make a conscious effort to ask for one.

That changed maybe 8 years ago when some grocery stores received licenses to sell beer and wine for off-premises consumption. Beer was sold in beer-only stores for decades. As far as I know, alcohol other than beer and wine is still restricted to state-run stores in PA. Some Wawa stores are licensed to sell beer for on-site consumption, but that requires somewhere to sit down and eat. I think that they can also sell limited amounts of beer for off-site consumption. No wine.

Glad you got paid. The ones I do nearly always tape the ingredients slip to the order. That slip also has the prep time on it but I time it myself anyway.

As of last week, the report requires a picture of the food, the kiosk slip, the receipt and the order slip.

In the last month, I would say that 50% of the time I did not get a slip with the number taped to the order (the "order slip"?). I have just added a note saying that I was not given one. No problem. Maybe they are trying to figure that out. I noticed years ago that sometimes they printed a slip early so that the time for delivery was much shorter than reality.

I had a few shops last week and the order slip was not attached to my quesadilla. I had to ask for it. I'm glad they didn't question it because my reasoning would have been questionable.
