Teeth cleaning shop

There is a shop for a chain dental group for teeth cleaning. The MSC is one that pays within 2 weeks. Is it really as simple as calling for an appointment and having your teeth cleaned?

The one I did was a video shop and it was that simple. You also got a free x-ray, which you could then take to any dentist, since, by law, you own your dental and medical records. The survey was mostly about how the staff disclosed and "sold" payment options for any further work that the exam revealed might be needed.

Based in MD, near DC
Shopping from the Carolinas to New York
Have video cam; will travel

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.

There are 3 different dental shops that I have seen over the years. First is from regional chains that want to check the customer service, especially when they advertise, $59 new patient special. Second is from a national consultant that advertises in dental magazines and conferences on how to improve the practice revenue by improving front desk service, follow up, and sale dental loan. This shop can be either video, or not. The consultant takes the result and then trains the staff on how to act. The third type is some short of legal investigation that can be anything.
To add, I have done them for multiple MS and clients when they showed up. Very straight forward. I do not video. They were all just customer service from all the staff. Similar to the massage chain first appointment shop. Very interesting how I got suggested so different action plans for my teeth issue. I have used it as a second opinion to see whether what my regular doctor suggested was valid. The worse dental shop is the one after the consultant has trained the staff and wants to see how well they absorbed the training. Oh my god, sometimes the financial adviser was like doing a car negotiation shop, very aggressive.
I would be careful with teeth cleaning being sure the place is clean and reputable. If you have had a hip or knee replacement in the past 2 years do not have your teeth cleaned without an antibiotic. I would never have an
X Ray without knowing the dentist office. I don't allow my own dentist to xray me more than every 5 years, unless you have a problem and just have the one tooth X Rayed. This is a medical view.
I completed a single teeth cleaning video shop; it was a round trip of appox. 270 miles. I was to be paid $260 + no charge for the service. Unfortunately, I did not consider the tech would be inches from my chest, with a very bright light, transforming my covert mic wiring into one that was quite visible. I was informed by the MSC, Shadow Agency, in that I was known to be a shopper, my report was unacceptable, but since I had driven so far, I would receive 1/2 pay. The only scenario in which I would consider another such job, would be if it were local AND did not require me to front the cleaning fee.
Also stents. My cousin's husband had stents and had to take antibiotics before a routine cleaning.

Of hand, A Closer look does many non video regional chains for dental, as well as prescription glasses.
Alta360 has some of these right now. Non-video. The pay isn't great but if one doesn't have dental insurance it would definitely be worth a free cleaning.

Intouch Insite on the Isecretshop platform.
Anyone who has any sort of "heart murmur" is advised to take antibiotics before a cleaning. My husband had a mitral valve issue which he had from birth and never bothered him but still the advice was to take antibiotics just to be on the safe side. These smaller valve issues are fairly common and sometimes never become an issue.
I give my dentist a free shop every time I am there.

My report was the last straw for one of the hygienists. She got fired after I reported back to him. Apparently, I was not the only one who was less than impressed with her.

No joke, she said, "Your teeth are so white, I don't need to polish them." She had somewhere to be because she was out of there before I had finished at the front desk.

I told the dentist later. He, himself, polished my teeth. He probably hasn't polished anyone's teeth since USC dental school.
What is it about having your teeth cleaned that makes you need antibiotics to protect other body parts? I am lost here. TIA

I got this.

Your mouth is full of bacteria. You can get cuts, or microcuts, in your gums during a cleaning. That's a portal of entry to your bloodstream. That bacteria can kill you if you have a heart murmur or other issues.
