Those "hmmmm" moments...

When you apply for the job, get the email saying "Closed" so you know they assigned it to someone else, and then a week later, there's the email for the same hard-to-fill locations, with "Bonus Added" this time. SMH. Do I want to bother to apply again? I mean, I'm driving to both of those small towns, 50 miles outside of this major city, in the next two days anyway, but... I have plenty of work anyway, right?
One of those, "if you didn't want me last week, you may have to make more of an effort this week!" moments...grrr

Someone took the assignment and either flaked or screwed up the shop. So, it is back on the board.

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
Oh no, I understood that...and I get that there are no doubt hundreds of shoppers...but given that I've done probably 40-50 of these particular shops over the last two years, all accepted, I think I was a little startled when I got *none* of this last set I applied for...so now I'm more inclined to sit back and watch. Perhaps the shopper who applied didn't realized exactly *where* these particular locations were smiling smiley They work well on a route...definitely not worth driving to for $15!
I look at that as a gift. "Well, I would have happily done it last week for $20, but, since you insist, I guess I can do it this week for $50.

Hard work builds character and homework is good for your soul.
That happened to me with the postal shops for this quarter. Always do the same three or four that are in Timbuktu, but the scheduler lagged big time in assigning. I withdrew my applications, but had emailed her. Get an email a week later asking if I was still interested. Yep, but for $50 additional for each shop. We all have lives and work for more than one company. Schedulers who don't have their acts together cost their MSPs money.

Ask for what you think is fair, or perhaps a little bit more in case they are likely to counter offer. If accepted, that's fine. If not then not worth your time.
I can definitely understand the frustration. From the MSC's perspective, since it sounds like you do these shops often, it may have been worth the risk of trying out a new shopper. If it works out, they get a fresh perspective. If it doesn't, it was worth the bonus they had to add later to try. I hope it worked out well for you!

It’s both a gift and a hassle. More money is nice but I don’t sit around waiting for those bonuses. I am making offers and trying to fill my schedule. There’s not always time to add one more and it’s not like you can drop your other assignments.

No doubt your scheduler already knows they made a mistake not giving you the job off the bat.

Except now that I know she's willing to add the $50 each, that's the new price.

That is certainly the risk for the MSC in these situations!
