It's a new year & more shops than ever...anyone else agree?

Seeing a deluge of shops I hadn't seen before ...so far, looking better than 2019 in terms of options.

Anyone else seeing this in your area?

It depends on the MSC.....

Hard work builds character and homework is good for your soul.
I'm getting more emails from schedulers, but the shops they're offering don't appeal to me.

I'm getting more emails but on closer look, they are the same ones several minutes apart it is almost like the computer is stuttering.

Nope. I have gotten emails for really low paying shops that I would never do, if that counts. For example $20 car shops, $12 furniture shops with long reports, $9 phone shops, $15 retail with returns, etc. I won't waste my time for jobs like that.
I've seen a major decrease in not only email offers, but shops when I go direct to the boards. One company that I was doing a group of shops for one day a week every week hasn't posted anything new in my state in almost a month. I know that a new year often brings new contracts, cancelled contracts and switching of MSCs, but this year it seems to be a lot more so than previous years.

I'm guessing it's very regional.

Our local economy is strong and seeing a lot of expanding businesses (albeit, some major chains going extinct too this past year).

I can say for sure that I have seen many more shops than in the past year. They run the gamut from cheapos to senior living and car shops that pay decently well.

Yeah, those count too.

I have seen more "better" sohps too in my area, Niner. Like I said to JC, I'm guessing it's very regional.

Manufacturing states might be seeing declines - just a guess - as the U.S. has been in a manufacturing recession the past year. Maybe the layoffs and reduced spending in some states is leading to less shops. Not really sure.

We'll have to see if things hold up the rest of the year.
