Shops Fees (JIcool smiley and Routes (Minimum Profit)

If you work for the MSC that does JIB you will notice the fees this week have taken a dive... normally today they are 13.00, but this week they are only 10.00. I assume it is either 1. The company is reducing the pay per shop or 2. Too many shoppers are taking them for lower fees, so they lower the overall fee.

For reference, the minimum meal cost across all locations in California specifically is 6.43 (based on the 890 shops I have done for the MSC for this client).

What is the minimum profit you will do shops you have to travel for? For me it is 10.00 - gas (so minimum is 15.00, which is really 16.50 with temp, or a 10.00 profit). I will consider 14.00 if the shops are lower, but 10.00 - No Way!

Keep in mind that each location takes an average to 26 min (actually 25:43 again based on 890 shops), including driving time to the next location (range: 18:39, lowest, infinity largest)

If the shop prices do not reach at least 14.00 (15.50) I will not even consider shops for this MSC without additional bonuses...

They started posting them at $7 yesterday in the Seattle area and the minimum meal cost is $6.92 in Seattle.

I have not done precise calculations, but my average time to do the shop, once on site, is about 13 minutes, including the report. If the shop is being offered at $20 and I am already next to the parking lot, I'll consider taking it, but won't be excited. If it's below that, I'd have to be stuck with nothing to do and figure that earning a few bucks is better than nothing.

From what I can tell, there are quite a few JITB stores that don't get shopped very often, so, about once a month, their pay goes up to a proper number, where I'll put a route together.... Before the updated guidelines were instituted this year, my bar for doing them was lower.

I also take into consideration how easy picture taking will be. I am in Southern CA and i pay between $5.75 and $6.02 for a Jumbo Jack meal.

For six months or so, I've been doing ff shops. My minimum is $25 plus reimbursement.

However, the one nearest to me is 45 miles away; I basically only do it if I'm going to or through that town on a route.

They said no more bonus money last month. They sat on the job board all month at base pay, $8 plus reimbursement.

I didn't do any of them last month.

They keep asking. I just keep telling them: "I don't do this as a favor. I do it to make money. If you are not paying enough for the shop to even cover my gas there and back, I'm not doing the shop."

When the shops didn't get done, and deadline arrived, they ended up paying me $65 to do each shop. I would happily have worked them into routes during the month at $25 each.

Does the phrase "penny wise, pound foolish" resonate with anyone here?
I get an email every week. This week, I was offered $16-$20 per location, none of which are more than 5 miles from my house. One is exactly 0.82 miles from my house. I drive past every single one of these stores in a given week numerous times. I think that they go on historical data of what they have had to pay to get them done. Kudos to everyone in my area for holding out, I guess?

I gave one combo to the maid. (In my defense, I also offered her a turkey and gouda on wheat. She chose the burger.) My husband gets 1-2 a week. The rest go into the trash.

Cheapest combo in my area is $6.67.

JetBlue Mastercard offers extra points for restaurants. So does American Express and my new US Bank Visa.
I give the rest of the burgers I do not eat to colleagues at my job with dogs... they make great dog treats...

(Not saying the burgers taste like dog food, but...)

I take the produce out. I get no mayo. Ziplock bag individually and freeze. She takes them to work cold and they reheat them since there is no produce or mayo.

Original question still stands. Somewhere that they get minimum wage?
I really have to thank you for this reply. The past few weeks have been absolutely horrid topped with this cherry of a day. HOWEVER this one comment made me laugh so freaking hard, I forgot about it for a good few minutes. I'm seriously still laughing.

No. A hospital. I have a feeling it is the young non professionals who eat them.

I think $17 is fair for the amount of work involved. Anything below that would not be worth it to me.

They all dropped to base rate in my area this morning. They must have changed their system of how they are assigning them and the rates? They never got to $15 in my area this week. I think that they got as high as $12 on the board.
And now for this week's comedy of errors ...
Jobs are at $12.
I got one email offering repeat locations at $12.
I got a second email offering repeat locations at $11, including one random one from a state 1500 miles away.
So far, my area is united at taking no jobs at $12.
They are now all 13.00 (with a few randoms at 15.00) in my area, again with few takers. It seems my area won't start grabbing large routes of shops until 14.00, which will likely hit tomorrow.

I am doing some 13.00 ones today (14.50 w/temp) for a quick meal on the way home... for the rest, we will see.
$13 right now in Northern California as well. But there seem to be TWO shops at each location instead of the one shop that is usually showing. Does anyone know what that's all about? Just wondering because I haven't seen it listed like that before.
I think that there are two shops at each location because one of them is left over from last week. At the end of last week they started to go higher and then got taken, but the seven dollar shop was still there. So I think we’re seeing last weeks seven dollar shops and this weeks seven dollar shops both at the same rate at this point.
This particular MSC has long been in a race to the bottom. Indeed, it often leads the race. That said, I would not eat at JIB regardless of fee. Ick.
13.00 again today... what a joke... I am considering not doing any routes this week if they do not improve their shop fee...
Yes, $13 or even $15 seems much too low to do a route of these. It will be interesting to see what happens this weekend. Hopefully most people will pass them up until the pay is reasonably bonused.
Thankfully the MS world is bigger than JIB!

No one can resist now: they are offering HERO CITATIONS!!

Not in CA. We got $1 raise to $14 now.
So, about 25% are now taken in my area (and not by me).
I got the email for shops in CA for a HERO CITATION!!! smiling smiley

I am still not excited for shops at 14.00, but I may do some tonight since I am in the area with open shops...
