#@?! Video Frustration

Sixteen video shops in two days kept me busy... But, wow, I had a year's worth of technical mishaps, causing a ton of stress with about $1000 on the line....

* My video glasses failed to charge properly on day one, causing them to not fully record a couple of car wash shops - which I had to do again on day 2. My car is very sparkly-clean now.....
* I was clearing up my filing system for video storage and inadvertently deleted all my PV500 files from 2020. No big deal, right? How often do we need to resubmit video files? Wrong. An editor misplaced on of my video files and needed me to resubmit it. (Thankfully she was able to find it several hours later on her end.)
* On my last PV-500 shop, I managed to accidentally put my recorder into "motion detect" mode, which resulted in missing several minutes of the interaction and having 30+ 1-minute videos instead of on 40-minute video... I've uploaded my (good) audio file and am hoping..
* One of the MSC's file upload services is really being persnickety and only successfully uploading video on about 50% of my attempts. Of course, it doesn't "fail" until it's been going several hours. Of course this is the MSC for which I did the majority of my shops.

I'll likely lose the "motion-detect" shop - which was $130 (aargh) and my sanity is long-gone....

omg... just one of those things would send me to bed to recuperate my frayed nerves. I can just imagine. But look at it this way, you have 10 years of video shopping bad luck out of the way now. It should be smooth sailing for a long time.
In my experience, those segments of the motion-detect shop can all be stitched together by the editor. I have seen that demonstrated at a conference. Of course, video will not have run when there was no motion, but the timer is our friend. It will be obvious to the editor, once clued to the problem, that those breaks represent times, (with time available) when literally, nothing was happening. So, you may be in better shape than you thought.

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
I did actually lose several minutes of video at the beginning - including the introduction... Had I not been missing that, I'd be more optimistic. I do have audio of it... It's a great MSC, so I'll find out.

I just can't imagine dealing with that.

I tried an app yesterday (um, I think it was Easy Shift), and after 27 minutes, I gave up. "Click here to see training video" - click. No video. I finally (with help from texts from another shopper) successfully "abandoned" the shift. Sat in the car and cried with frustration and anger -- there were 3, within blocks of one another, paying $15 each; I really NEED that $45! -- then went on and did my 3 scheduled "regular" shops. You know, the ones where I can print out on paper the instructions, LOL1

If I'm that lost on an app that other shoppers tell me is easy, intuitive, a first grader could do it -- nope, cannot imagine attempting video, or dealing with video malfunctions.

Hat's off to ya! Hope you get paid for all.
you may be able to *fix* the motion detected using Any Video Converter free software to combine all the clips into one video.
