You do get paid - for the most part. No company should ever ask you to pay them to work for them. There are plenty of legitimate mystery shopping companies that do not charge. Something smells of scam if you have to pay the company. Now the shop, you will have to do out of pocket & wait for the reimbursement.
Unless, of course you are doing a product evaluation. Then you may have to put down a deposit for the product, just so you don't accept the product & never complete your end of the bargain. Hope this helps!

Oh, and NSite is FABULOUS!! They pay you the end of the month in which you completed your shops. I have done one on the 27th, and got my paypal payment on the 31st. They are great people to work with, as well. One caveat - you better be good at what you do, because they don't accept any 2 sentance narrative or BS submissions. No shopper fee for some things either, but they reimburse well. I mean, $40 - $70 for dinner, $25 reimbursement at the liquor store...can't beat it!
Yes CRI(Corporate Research International) pays weekly and direct deposit.Feedback pays by mail or direct deposit. There are a lot of companies that pay by Pay Pal.There are a lot that pay,I have been at this awhile.
Sometimes it takes a month or two to get paid. MercServeys is the slowest. They take two months. I have been a mystery shopper for 20 years, and there is only one company that I am still trying to get paid. I am contacting the Labor Department on GFK. They owe me $352.

I have had problems with Second to None, CRI and Bare Int'l. They threatened not to pay me and took me off their data base when I requested my money, but they did pay me.
How do I get started with NSITE? I am new at this. I have not had my first job but I would like very much to get started.
I have been shopping for two and half months. So far, so good. Everything has been paid right on schedule.
CRI and Bare are great at paying you. I talk with them all the time and when they need a special shop at the last time they call me.
I have been screwed by several companies. The worst one was mysteryshopper, com. They stole $99.95 for a gold membership and there jobs were paying less than minimum wage.I went out and did three banks and never got paid. I also did an evaluation of Harley Davidson Motorcycle shop and never got paid. The fact is out of 7 jobs I got paid 2 times. There is a lot of fraud in this mystery shopping business. You really need to know who is real and who is fake.
Any one know what your recourse is when a company doesn't pay. It's been over 90 days, I don't get any responds on inquiring on the payment. Is their a site you can add their name to so other MS don't get scamp?
Vince If you don'tget paid after 60 days contact the state Labor Department and the State Attorney Generals Office and file a complaim and have theminvestigated. If they are a scam they will be forced to close and will all theircontracts. Don't hesitate to complain there is no reposcussions against you. A company who files a complaint against you for doing something negative is liable for defamation of character. Contact your BetterBusiness Bureau also and file a complaint. What goes around comes around.
Yes you definitely get paid. I have secret shopped for over a year now and its great. Most of the companies deposit directly to my bank account, a couple send checks once a month, and one or two uses paypal.
i can honestly say that I have only been paid by three companies out o fthe twelve that I am regsited with and have worked for.
I am not a hopper so the few that I still work for are on an I need this basis.
I also work with CRI and they are great. Never late with a payment and so many jobs to choose from. Also have not ever had a problem with second to none and 9 times out of 10 I dont send them my reciepts lol. Trendsource is good but limited in job variety. Service Sleuth is good but takes a while to get paid. And jimmysdevoted, if your reports look like your posting, no wonder you dont get paid.
I just received my first group of paychecks from CRI and they came in real handy but I agree, it takes time and I just started with a few shops here and there for SSANET but the people there are super and my worker goes out of her way to find my husband, who I just signed up, jobs that are convient to us.
