Favorite Things!

There's so much doom & gloom right now, I thought it would be fun to have a thread to talk about the best bits of mystery shopping. Especially with everything slowing down right now. What's your favorite thing about it & the best things you've gotten out of it before?

I'll start - relatively new so not a ton of examples yet. Bonuses for me include putting a lot more on my credit card than I normally would which gives me cash back. Similar with the loyalty program for a certain red/white chicken store. Favorite shops have been massages (because I would rarely pay to get one myself), being able to take my roommate to dinner & I did a cool gift store recently. Easy shop & $40 of items so I prepped for Christmas. Also got a $200+ cooler w full reimbursement which went straight in to the Christmas pile!

I love everything about mystery shopping. Learning new things, keeping my mind sharp, retaining my professional skills and knowledge from past careers, being able to make my own schedule, developing new skills to increase my earnings potential, meeting new people, being able to combine travel with business, choosing which shops I want and which I will pass on, and especially when the $$$$ arrives smiling smiley
My favorite thing is being reimbursed for items I would purchase anyway, such as groceries, gasoline or household products.
I was 9 when I wanted to be a movie star/actor. Turned out to be a banker though. Now, I get to fulfill my wish. Acting out different roles and getting paid for it.
For now, my fave thing is the personal challenge of living without it. First there was, "Can I of all people do this???" Next there was, "Weeelllll, I can do some of this. The rest of it is too far away, for younger or older people, or just not for me." Now there is, "Apparently, prevailing conditions will impose this long hiatus which involves more time off than I had anticipated when planning my 2020 work."

I love being able to try new products that I normally wouldn't try. Because of mystery shopping I now buy Aveda, Lindt, Bare Minerals and even bought a $3,000 mattress/frame. My kids get a lot of LEGOs and stuff from the Disney Store that I would never buy on my own dime.
I love being able to have a date night or another special occasion at a beautiful restaurant with delicious food. I love being able to obtain cosmetics, clothing, pocket money and gifts in exchange for my time and a detailed report. I like getting a delicious lunch while at work. There's usually so much more I can do while being in the vicinity of the client's location but I choose not to due to other responsibilities and needs. I've got to get home.
I love that it forces me out of my comfort zone. I try places, products and food that I probably wouldn't otherwise for whatever silly reason.

Shopping the South Jersey Shore
The ability to travel, the different types of jobs, the cash, meeting new people, learning new things about different industries, and most of the people on this forum.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
I love the fine dining at places I would not have tried at my own expense. I miss the charm store where I was able to acquire a nice charm bracelet over time. I also miss the Diane von Furstenberg shops where I obtained several cute bags.
Raindrops on roses
And whiskers on kittens... these are a few of my favorite things. Wait, that's not Mystery Shop related. Nevermind
Bright colored rainbows and long woolen mittens...Sound of Music is one of my favorite things and now I have time to watch it over and over and over...nah..never mind

Favorite MS things: diversity...keeping busy...getting out and about...different experiences...getting to play act...getting paid for all of above
