Thank you!

Yes. I just received my first check.

Did you have w-2 wages you were claiming or JUST as an IC?
I applied...it's pending. I expect it to be denied and then go to Pandemic UE..at least I'm hoping.

I applied as a self-employed individual and my status went from pending to filed, but when I tried to certify it said I needed to call the unemployment office....we all know how impossible it is to reach that!

Thank you!

W-2. I’m a full time investigator for a large company and with everything shut down I have nothing to investigate.

I’m supplementing my loss in
mystery shopping income by doing Instacart. It’s pretty lucrative and I’ve averaged $36/hr being a shopper. I guess all those grocery store shops paid off as I know where everything is. I make around $300 a day with fees and tips.

How are you still receiving an unemployment check and earning a (fairly) decent income? You do know you have to declare how much you make each week while on unemployment if you have any "side hustle" type jobs.
I applied for it and it has been pending for 3 weeks. My "regular" job closed, too, but they are a church and don't participate in unemployment so I am fairly certain that I won't get it from there even though they say there are exceptions. My boyfriend is furloughed from his job, applied and got his unemployment in a week and thank goodness because he's basically supporting us both right now.

I made mid six figures with my full time job prior to the furlough. I made $15k last year MS. My side hustle currently has brought me about $1500 a week. I connected with my tax pro and he’s guiding me through the process so that I’m within the guidelines of the law.

NJ is very generous with unemployment.

@Fidobaxter Pretty much everyone I've talked to has the same situation. I applied back in March, said pending for the whole time. Last week I got a notice that I'll get it, the following day I got the prepaid card and the next day I got the notice on how to certify every week. I waited until my half hour time slot this past Thursday and it said not payable at this time. Everything I've read says to keep certifying weekly and you will get back pay. Make sure that you certify every week.

Thanks! I'll keep certifying during my time slot. We'll see. I'm starting to run low on funds. This is why I'm getting worried. I have a 13 year old daughter and two dogs to care for. Thank God my ex husband has been extremely helpful. I don't know where I'd be right now without him.

I'm glad you have him to lean on and I'm sure it would be the same if the situation was reversed! Keep trying, I know that some people have had success (my BF had his payment in his account 5 days after he applied for it and every week until 2 weeks ago when he went back to work).

Hey guys just a quick update. I got the email this morning after submitting income docs to the DOL. I got approved! So relieved.

Who did you submit them to? I got paid the minimum amount but should be getting much more than that.

Thank you!

@krattner You should be getting whatever it said on your acceptance mailing. What do you mean you're getting the minimum, but should be getting more than that? If you're talking about the $600, that comes as a separate payment.
I still haven't received any payment, but they are still taking my weekly reporting.

I submitted mine to Uihelp@dol.nj.gov because I was told to by my local legislator who helped me get in touch and get status on my claim. They needed my income verification docs

After two months of trying to contact anybody at the state agency with no luck, miraculously my UE for 8 weeks was sent via direct deposit. I haven't received the $600 per week yet but assume it will come soon.

Glad the UE finally came through, Judi! Phew -- that had to be a long dry spell waiting for the dinero!
