Those guys aren’t working for free, so the amount of time on resources spent is them taking a loss. How much time do you think was wasted on getting all this setup only to be cancelled.

The schedulers and heads of MSC's literally just show up and talk BS while promoting their companies for a few hours. The majority of the expense is the meeting space and catering costs, and this is an organization that has been founded to promote mystery shopping, and paid for by the members. I think it may even be a non-profit. They are a small group of people (that do this for other companies as well) who are literately funded to specifically set things like this up. They get paid weather or not Shopperfest takes place.
The fact that they charge membership fees to shoppers is in itself nearly criminal...
