There is only one currently showing on my list but I didn't see any others that came and went prior to today. But I also did not comply with Maritz's EIN rules so I may be blocked.
I did not do the EIN thing either. I picked up some more gas shops yesterday...smiling smiley

I hope that you're getting more than $12 for these, considering the client is one of the largest oil companies in America.
Thats easy. Expand your search range and see what sits for a bit. Then call and discuss...grinning smiley

I know right. I take them, purchase the minimum and sit back and wait for the checks. I usually shop 4 with in a 10 mile range so I don't feel as jipped. Since they have merged with (black and red) I don't have a problem finding 2 that are directly across the street. Plus last round I didn't have to purchase gas on my own which is always sweet.
I grabbed a bunch too and this time the scheduler called me to tell me they just hit the job board. For $22 each I'm glad to do the five that are located along 5 miles of the same road. Takes about 20 minutes per location and 10 minutes report time including the photos. I can dig that.

If I have to drive more than 15 miles to do a shop, I typically see if one or more of these are available. Even if they aren't the best paying in the world, I can drive to better paying jobs and get the gas comped.
I recently called Maritz to politely discuss the low pay for these job and asked if the client, namely the second largest petroleum company in the world, had any plans to reimburse more than the paltry 1-1/4 gallons of gas. I got the impression I was interrupting his/her afternoon break and was told, "no one else has complained."

The wheels of progress sure move slowly.
The pay is part of what I stopped doing those (besides the fact they lost my cell phone number and unassigned three shops claiming they could not reach me when I could even give the name of the employee I gave the number to).

CRIs pay is often talked about and criticized, but they will bonus and bonus well. Their gas shops are much easier and take much less time and often end up bonused much higher than the Maritz shops. The largest bonus I've ever received from Maritz was few dollars.
Check out the new quarterly CORI gas shops. You are doing more for less than Maritz. At least in my market...:p

Added: The largest bonus I received from Maritz was $100.00...grinning smiley

The CORI gas shops are the best, in my humble opinion. Market Force is the worst.

The CORI shops you're making a few basic observations and taking a handful (less than five) covert pictures.

Then I need to start talking to your Maritz schedulers. winking smiley
Nichtoliver. They have changed. They now require a bunch of pictures. More than the Maritz shops...winking smiley

What really turned me off with the Maritz gas station shops happened last Feb. I think I posted about it here. I had done tons of them without much trouble, then they insisted that the canopy had a diesel pump without a valance under it and said it needed a picture. I did not take a picture of the diesel pump because it was nowhere near the canopy. I argued that with them for awhile and sent pictures of the canopy from different angles to show the pump was nowhere near it. Two days later the shop was back on the job board and I was not being paid for it.

I took it again since I was going to be back in that area. This time I took a picture of the diesel pump and submitted it. I get an email to call (of course to call) and the editor I talked to was wondering why I included the diesel pump since she could tell it was not part of the lot. WTF?? So I basically made two trips and did a shop twice (getting paid only once) since they would not pay attention to me the first time.
Hmmm, I did 5 Maritz gas shops today. Four of them were $11/$4/$1 and the other was $10/plus 2 gallons. 2 of the stations were rebranded to a different petroleum company so I got paid the $11 for taking only 2 pictures. 2 of the remaining were fairly easy but the last one, Boy oh Boy, that was a pita! They had NOTHING right, so I had to take almost 50 pictures to document all of the "no" answers. Grr!
I do not do these gas shops because the amount of work involved and photos I feel insulted with the pay I am offered. I've asked for higher pay just to be told if you don't like the fee don't take the shop. Someone else will complete it.
Yes, I sensed that sort of attitude from Maritz before I terminated with them. They could equally well have told you politely, "I'm sorry, I am not authorized to pay more at this time." But their approach of slimy whining to coax you to do an inconvenient and cheap job combined with rubbing in your face that "someone else will do it at this fee" as if you were being unrealistic in your request for fair pay, just stuck in my craw crosswise.

Well if they can so easily get someone else to do it, why aren't they calling them?
MARITZ is the most unprofessional and sneaky company I have worked for!!! I did several gas shops for them. They basically harrassed me with phone calls until I finally and reluctantly accepted but I have two kids to feed. I submitted them etc. Never got paid. I asked why and they said they never received an invoice. I happily resent my receipts etc only to be ignored. I resent the inquiry by email a third time only to get back an unprofessional response and a "no." Their software is designed to screw over the shopper if the invoice doesnt go through. After 14 days has gone by all info is wiped from the shoppers log so you can not check the status or pull up past jobs. I am ready to bring legal action.
I have done 54 shops for Maritz and never had a problem with payment. Once I did not receive a check and when I called them about it they put a stop payment on the old check and sent me a new check. I have found them to be very professional.
I am patiently waiting for the self assign period to be over so I can hopefully pick up a few to do that will earn me the right to self assign. I'll take all the pics they want each month for the free gas and $10. lol Jesus and gas.....is what makes the wheels go round!

"Finally, whatever things are good, true, noble, lovely, of good report...if there be any virtue, if there be any praise...think on these things." ....It's a command, not a suggestion!
I dont know about anyone else but when I assign myself a job with Maritz, I never have gotten any sort of confirmation email with shop details, terms, etc like any other mystery shopping company I have dealt with over the years. Any jobs you do perform are wiped clean from your shop log after 14 days. All history with this company is erased from the shopper to see. When you do print out your shop forms there is no reference to the payment or terms. Again, all the above, very odd. I have always been paid by them in the past but on the bonused halfway decent paying shops I was pestered to do, and then did, I've seen nothing. No solid paper trails, no history look up. Nothing.
You need to put you attitude aside and concentrate on your end.
When you self assign - The website tells you your status.
When you complete a job - Complete the invoice and print it.
You get an email when the jobs are due and overdue.
That is shops completed in the past 14 days.
It is your responsibility to keep up with what you have completed.

Is this clear enough for you?

Sir, there is no attitude except for not being paid for doing everything as as stated. I suppose I am not being clear enough as to their negligence in responding to my many inquiries which sir, I do have documented. The emails, the phone calls, all to hear, "we'll get back to you," when speaking to at least 5 of their employees on the phone. First inquiry was when I never received the check on time, maybe 2 weeks later. Is that a bit clearer as to why I am upset? I've sent them the documents at their request 3x now and now they say its been too long! Say what? What would you have done sir after being ignored now 3 months?
Hairball,
You neglected to submit an invoice. Nobody can do that for you....just you. Stop whining about people who don't have sympathy for your poor follow through. You blew it and it is too late. Chalk it up as a lesson and learn from it.

Excuse me. Where does it say I did not submit an invoice??? And did not send them the paperwork 3x? Poor follow through? I have freakin phone bills with their number all over it for months!!!!!!!! So don't tell me I didn't follow through! They didn't respond. Very professional.
