CURIOUS ABOUT CANADIAN CLOSURES AND UNEMPLOYMENT OR STIMULUS

The news reports show Canada is under lockdown like the US and I'm guessing mystery shops have dried up there also. I'm hearing a lot about unemployment and stimulus checks for US. We have a bunch of Canadian shoppers but I haven't read any comments about what is happening there. Canadians, are you okay? Is Canada offering unemployment to shoppers? Are there stimulus funds allocated for Canadians?

The outbreak seems very much to be focused in the east there....
Canadians are receiving $2,000 Canadian dollars per month for the length of the pandemic. People who lost work had to call in, provide their account numbers, and reports are that people received the money within days
The $2,000 per month is for people who lost their jobs due to Covid19. Some usual restrictions are waived, such as waiting period. Small business owners, gig workers are eligible for some help as well.

In Alberta, all non essential places are still closed. But open businesses is quite a long list. We are strongly recommended to stay home as much as possible. Enjoy the outdoors while physically distancing. ( And not touching stuff so playgrounds are closed)

Schools are closed until September.
