How to refund a duplicate PayPal payment

Ipsos/Maritz paid me twice, and I have been asked to refund one of the payments. I have followed the instructions and do not see an option to issue a refund. Anyone have an idea why this option is not available to me. Anyone else get a duplicate Ipsos/Maritz payment for April work?

Here's how you can issue a full or partial refund for up to 60 days after you received the payment from the customer:

Log into your PayPal account
Click Transactions near the top of the page
Click the payment you want to refund
Click Issue a refund
For "Refund amount," enter the amount you want to refund, and then click Continue
Review your information to make sure you entered the correct refund amount and click Issue Refund
So refreshing to hear from someone who got too much money instead of the usual who got no money.....yet.
Your personal refund policy should be 45 days.

45 days after the last day of the month in which the overpayment occurred
It would all depend on the one that is double-paying you. We all know which companies that will be and which companies will not be double paying you. But if they did accidentally overpay I would make them wait the six months that we sometimes have too and then chase the payment and ask them how they felt having to chase money down like we sometimes have too. If you try this make sure you have no money in your PayPal account.
IPSOS/Maritz has always paid within 30 days (except most recently made me wait 60 days for the first time ever), never had to wait 6 months.

Unfortunately, when I follow the directions as stated above and by PayPal, there is no dropdown box for me to issue a refund. I have let the individual know that sent me the message that I cannot find a way to refund the payment.
If you can’t get the refund to work, you can just send the MSC a payment. You would want to make sure you check with them about the PayPal address they want you to use for that, in the event it is different form the one they use to send money out.

I couldn't get the dropdown box either, i started a chat with paypal and they did it all for me. Quick and easy.
There is now a scam regarding refunding paypal payments where the scammers pose as legit companies asking for a refund of overpayment and get info that way. I did not see the whole thing, just overheard it but you might want to google for deets.

This is a PayPal. Issue. There is no check.
