Exxon Mobil Shops

As the individual states begin easing the lockdown, I am wondering if mystery shopping for the Exxon Mobil gas stations will also restart.

Specifically, has anyone received any type of news or correspondence from the E/M MSC?

Then, there is the question about the shops that are done on an every other month basis. When we, as the mystery shopper performed these shops, there was a question at the end of the debrief or report: Would you like to perform this shop again? If so, which week.
So, if we, as the shopper, agreed to perform the shop again, I wonder if these shops will be given to us or will it be the free for all that it was in the old days.

My opinion? The MSC should at least alert us in advance that they are considering or shall be reopening these shops and how they shall do it.

I don't have anything constructive to add, but am curious about everything that you ask as well. When EM was not back in May, I have been of the thought that the client will forego the second quarter and resume with Q3 in July. One thing that I am also concerned about are the problems in the oil industry in general. A company like EM or the other similar clients this MSC has might see a temporary suspension of their MS program to save themselves money.

I have the very unfortunate feeling that they will move them to Presto, but they have to be hanging on to the "old" site for a reason, too. So, fingers are crossed.

If they do return, I am expecting to see a much different shop with more interior photos needed, perhaps making a blue almost seem like a yellow (if you get where I am going with that).
That is one reason I always liked blue better than yellow. Less intrusive and often better pay.

Although if I'm not shopping, I don't buy their gas (E/M is too expensive), I have been pulling through some of my old gas station assignments to note what has changed.
Biggest non change is that many, if not most still have the same POP as they did when I last did their shops in February and March.
OTOH, I note that some have not improved their stations (read cleaned them up) and I'm not referring to me being "white glove"!
Interestingly, since I did my last shop in mid-March right before the MSC shut everything down, I've only needed to buy gas twice. Plus, I'm still using the gas I purchased when doing the shops that I had set aside for the tractor and mower.
I'm sure the new MSC is going to take full advantage of the COVID-19 hiatus and make changes to the scheduling (probably no more auto assign/auto rotation, the reporting method and the the staffing from the old MSC who have been furloughed for the most part.
Thanks French Farmer for just asking the same questions I was wondering about. I was going to ask if anyone had heard any news about any of the gas audits restarting. The last call I got from the "Yellow" department was just before all of this got really bad and they closed everything down.

You guys are right about them keeping the old system, they must still be planning to use it. Also, remember they just updated that site a few months before being sold to the new MSC. Something else I noticed is that they changed the email addresses to match with the new MSC, but kept the Team 1, Team 2 and so on. Team 2 was usually who handled the Yellow shops. I was told to keep using the same phone number, so maybe that is a good sign too. I just hate to see all of these go to Presto, because we know it could use some work. But I bet they will want our picture while on site wearing a mask.

If you guys hear anything from Yellow or Blue before I do, please let me know. Thanks.

I don't have a problem submitting a selfie. The last thing I do before exiting the station is take a selfie of my torso at arms length. If a mask needs to be included I can move the camera up a little. The mask I use is homemade from a US flag bandanna folded in half corner to corner and attached by Velcro, which I sewed on. Kind of looks like a stage coach robber in an old Western. I've actually had a few compliments on it from strangers. My handsome face was not included in the old photos and will be covered in the new.
I have no issues with selfie photos either. In the winter and through the months that are chilly, i always took a photo of myself in the restroom with my coat on (no face showing).
If they ask for a mask photo, I have several.
I'm happy with them not coming back for a while. Honestly, I was working way too much for a while there anyway. Plus, with my teenager home and no summer activities, she'd like to use the pool more. With me out working, for safety, she doesn't use it while home by herself. I just need it to hold on automatically assigned for the next school year until she graduates.
That's curious. A HS senior needing a lifeguard for a back yard pool. I do laps in mine almost every nice day with no lifeguard. I guess I'm living on the edge.
But, LIJake, you're a grown up (I assume!) And teenagers do stupid things, I sure did. Swimming across a snake infested mudhole, drunk, on a dare. I'm with KarenMSW on this one. Gotta keep an eye on them! Even the teens who seem normal can have sudden attacks of idiocy. Sometimes we outgrow it. Even then, accidents happen.

It has nothing to with her doing anything stupid or needing a lifeguard and everything to do with having another person around in case anything happens. We also live in a somewhat rural area so there is literally nobody around to hear her if she has an issue in the water. Trust me, she's a trained camp counselor, but doesn't swim at camp without a "buddy" for safety. I trust her to be safe, but accidents do happen and bad results can happen very quickly.

When my daughter was 14, and complaining "there's nothing to do" in the rural town we had moved to, she asked if she could go with her friends.

I asked her where they were going.

She said "We're gonna go jump off the bridge into the Platte River".

Good grief. I thought she was joking, but I refused permission to go.

Well, the idiots DID jump off the bridge -- one girl broke an ankle, another broke her leg. After a years-long drought, there wasn't enough water in the river to cushion their fall!

How did we EVER survive being teenagers?

I am seeing Dino shops for my area starting to show up as of May 29
I was always taught, "Never swim alone". Doesn't matter who you are or what age/skill level. Never go in the water, even wading, alone.
