No New Shops yet?

I haven't seen any new shops in a long time. Well, maybe just a very few. And I'm signed up with nearly 200 companies. All the local economies are opening up, too. Does anyone think mystery shopping will come back at all? Ever?

I think as soon as the clients start getting some disposable revenue, shops will return. For example, first the restaurant has to open and deal with all the new COVID expenses that entails. Then they have to convince customers (who still have enough money left to do so) to trust them and actually enter and eat. There will be other expenses such as dealing with unpaid past rents/bills before the 'luxury' of having mystery shops done will be viable.

I am confident mystery shopping will return but it will be one of the later things to do so, maybe 3-6 months after a business re-opens successfully is my guess.
I am seeing a lot of drive-thru and drive-in fast food shops. I do a bunch of them because I'm back at work at the office and most of my co-workers are still teleworking so I'm pretty much alone and need a quick lunch. And I need to get out of that big empty, silent office for a few minutes as a break. My state has lifted the stay-at-home order but businesses are limited to 50% occupancy. I haven't eaten inside a restaurant since early March. I drive by restaurants and I see a few people eating in and dining on the patio but not many. Most are probably not making enough money to make it worth it to be open yet. I drive past my gym, Gold's. It opened 2 weeks ago but I haven't started back. The parking lot is empty although before the corona, it was full all day every day. I stopped by the mall yesterday. Most of the stores were open but it was a ghost town with a huge empty parking lot. I'm with Bena on this. I think we are at least 3 months from seeing a bunch of shops and probably more like six months.
ACL has some posted shops. So does BARE.

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
I have seen some storage shops, apartment shops, and a few photo audits. I have not seen any gas stations or grocery stores yet but I am in So Cal and there is still a sort of lockdown in place.
Just today I got a list of shops from SeeLevel but I have seen several other shops from other companies. I have not taken any yet. The above companies listed have shops on their website but most are not in So Cal. There were also a few companies that had a few jobs listed in March, April and May.
Sign in to your companies and widen your area to see if there are jobs further away and it is just your city not being shopped yet.
I see three different convenience store chains on various job boards. These are the only shops I'm will to do right now because I only have to spend a few minutes inside.
Sutter Marketing has their compliance audits that need teens showing up in my area. If you have teens at home that are bored and want to earn some money, check out Sutter Marketing to see if any are in your area.
I haven't seen any shops, but I haven't been looking too much either. However, where I was getting dozens of emails a day before C19 hit, I've maybe received that many in a week. The only thing they're trying to get me to do are grocery shops that aren't in my area and a few USPS shops.

I have seen convenience stores gas stations, mail, financial, food, and merch. I missed a well-paid merch because I had to finish something at home. Oh, well. There will be others. smiling smiley

Arby's had 3 drive-thru shops near me a few days ago. Reimbursement only. I passed but somebody took them, I checked again yesterday and they were gone.
I'm doing some of the same gas stations and USPS shops I was doing before, so there's that.
I have seen a few jobs in my state, but very few are anywhere near me. The ones I am seeing in the state aren't paying enough to validate the distance I would have to drive to do the shops.

I AM
I've gotten a dozen emails this week about shops, but when I check the boards there's never anything in my area. Either the messages are generic and sent to the entire state/region/country and my area doesn't have anything, or they're immediately being snapped up.

I sometimes wonder how such unexpected pandemics would be worked into the Arithmetic Progression used to predict numbers in marketing. Are such disasters somehow worked into governmental budgets? This is the first time, I am actually thinking of such things - business, economy, jobs and our spending power; everything is super entwined.
