Nailed it. 70% of Americans are overweight. This is one of the reasons why. I quit doing Claim Jumper shops, as it made me nauseated to watch people eat that way.@Flash wrote:
It is a restaurant that what it doesn't deep fry it cooks forever with enough salt to rapidly raise your blood pressure. When we did shops we watched as the morbidly obese waddled in and out of the restaurant--leaving with bags and boxes of leftovers. We only did a couple of shops because the food was just so antithetical to a healthy diet.
Well 70% of Americans are overweight. That's a fact. So, on average 70% or more (based on their menu) of their customers should be overweight. They aren't serving a lot of salads there.@shoptastic wrote:
For anyone who has never been to Texas Roadhouse, I don't think these depictions are accurate (neither on food, nor on their customer obesity - the latter of which I don't care about whatsoever).
Their side salads are good too. Always ice cold.@annelehman wrote:
Hello,All! The broiled salmon is low calorie and and has long-chain omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA, which we need. There are vegetable sides. And good coffee. I really like Texas Roadhouse. Signed, Night Owl at 4:57 pm.
You should volunteer yourself to your scheduler for out-of-rotation emergency/flake shops.@plmccut wrote:
I would do them every week if it were not for rotation!
I don't go there for "health" food (for that, I can prepare it myself at home). Yes, I'm one of those who inhales their bread and will ask for refills. However, they do have healthy options and TXRH (all three brands: Roadhouse, Bubba's 33, and Jaggers) is known for it's made-from-scratch, fresh prepared meals. Everything (other than some desserts, if I remember correctly) is prepared that same day (from grating of the cheese to the cutting of veggies and making the croutons and sauces, etc.). I feel their foods are prepared well with their natural flavors being highlighted...not smothered in some "mystery sauce" to hide old or poor cuts of meat...@SoCalMama wrote:

I guarantee you that is not a typical order there.@annelehman wrote:

According to CEO, Wayne Kent Taylor, their number one ordered item is the 6 oz. sirloin (their smallest cut of meat).
You get two sides & all-you-can-eat bread and peanuts. All for $8.99 on specials days and I believe $10.99 on non-specials nights.
Rumor has it an ancient tablet contained what religious scholars believe to be an 11th commandment: "Thou shalt not deny thyself Texas Roadhouse rolls."@KathyG wrote:
For my last TR shop (a carry out) I got a chicken breast without the BBQ sauce, a 'dry' baked potato, and vegetables without butter sauce. Quite a healthy meal (except for the rolls and butter that jumped onto my plate :-)
Sorry to change topic, but how'd your vaccination go, plmccut?@plmccut wrote:
