FIVE GUYS IS BACK!!

I made an offer of $28. It was posted for $25. My offer was declined. The directions stated that a rebid had to be $3 less than the original offer. Gotta laugh.

Thanks for this reply. When I made an offer for a posted $25, I made sure it was over $28 so that when I'd have to lop off $3, it was still more than the $25 posted.

MAO of $25 just rejected for a location that I always get that amount for. Guess I'll have to wait for them to call me over the weekend and offer it to me. So stupid these games we have to play.

It still sucks since you don't get paid for a meal and probably go out of rotation for three weeks.

I agree, it is extremely frustrating trying to negotiate fees. I hate how schedulers will only offer the lowest fee you've ever done at a location, and then act like you are unreasonable for asking for a bit more. They should understand that circumstances change, so one week a shop may be more inconvenient and warrant a higher fee.

I also worry about how much I should push for increased fees...I've heard that this MSC will sometimes unexpectedly "deactivate" shoppers, and I don't want them to use my fee requests as a reason to deactivate me.

I must say though, it's nice you typically get $25 for these shops. Around me, they almost never make it past $12 nowadays.

Never understate your worth. While this MSC does seem to deactivate shoppers sometimes at random, don't let that scare you into accepting an offer that you don't think is fair. Like I tell all my schedulers who get upset when I ask for my bonuses and pay raises. I may be pricey, but I'm worth it. Whenever they have a last minute flake shop to fill, or get an out of the way shop that's hours away that nobody wants, they know who to turn to. I may not be cheap, but I get the job done. Using this motto has made me become a much more powerful shopper in regards to getting the fees that I request.
I did a walk in shop yesterday. $12.79 for a grilled cheese.

Every one of my MAO got rejected at the amount they normally pay. I haven't had a call in at least a year. I did get a Samantha offer at half of my normal fee though.

I've had them accepted in the past but I typically had to wait until the weekend. And because it's been rejected, I won'tbe able to submit it again at that price, I will have to do $22 (which I'm not doing). So I will wait for them to call me.

And they've now raised them to $18, which is unusual for this early in the week. They clearly want to get them done before the holiday, yet they foolishly rejected my offer.

This was my second Five Guys shop. I did one while vacationing in TN, Smoky Mountains couple years ago but it was a walk in. I did my second shop yesterday which was a curb side pick up. I had a grilled cheese sandwich, regular fries and since, fountain drink was not an option, I opted for bottled drinks. My shop was approved today. Thank you for replying to my queries yesterday.. I knew you guys would be faster than the helpdesksmiling smiley
I dont see any Five Guy Shops posted anymore. I think they stopped being shopped, at least in NJ
Yesterday morning I made an offer for a same-day lunch shop. When it got close to the time frame and no response I attempted to cancel my offer. The only way I could figure out is to decline all shops for that location until the next shopping period. Anyone else know a better solution?

That's an interesting conclusion, deciding that they are not shopped anymore because you don't see the shops, when the rest of us are talking about shops currently listed.

BTW I just checked and I see FG shops for zip code 07080, which is in NJ. Also for 08816.

If they don't call you, you can always call them. I do it all the time.
Doing this caused me to somehow end up on the do not call list. They finally went back to calling me. And still refused to offer me $25 for a shop, would not go any higher than $22, which is what they are listed at right now on the website. I told the guy that I'll wait for him to call me back.
Update -- different person called me and offered $22. I told her $25 and she put in the request and it was approved. Will go Monday when it (hopefully) stops raining.
There are oodles of 5 Guys in NJ. Perhaps there's another reason why you aren't seeing them.

Just cancel it if/when they assign it to you. I never trust their system to show me shops again for a location I've declined.

After thinking on this I decided I will contact the Atlanta number and make sure that didn't happen.

Of course, they probably would have rejected the MAO anyway, so you didn't have anything to worry about!

Be careful about cancelling shops after they have been assigned to you. I haven't cancelled a 5G shop before, but when I recently cancelled another shop for the same MSC, all the rest of the locations for the same client disappeared from my job board (not just the location that I cancelled). I was worried I had somehow inadvertently restricted myself forever from these shops, but they are back on my job board for the new period (June). But I missed out on being able to make offers on some of the remaining locations for May. I'm not sure whether cancelling a 5G shop would trigger the same thing (i.e., other locations disappear for the shop period), but I just thought I'd mention it!
Thankfully, today the location showed up again.

Weird, I have been doing the shops for over 5 years. Not a one shows up in my account , even with those zip codes. Not sure why, other shops and retails are there though. No explanation

Did you do something that might have gotten you blocked? Did you accidentally decline all shops for the client? I never trust their website so I never decline a shop for anything I actually want to do in the future.

No, been doing the shops for years without incident. Other fast food shops, retail, etc show up. Tried other states and zip codes, no five guys, no explanation. Probably only cancelled one shop in 5 years due to weather.
There are plenty available now in Camden and Burlington Counties, NJ. Also in Delaware and Delaware County, PA.

Shopping Southeast Pennsylvania, Delaware above the canal, and South Jersey since 2008
Years ago, certain Five Guys disappeared from the listings I saw. I was told that I had been spotted as a shopper. They eventually came back. But only 1 or 2 disappeared at a time. I made a point of visiting the ones I couldn't see just to baffle them. In one, it was amazing to see the scurry of activity when I arrived as they cleaned the bathroom, chairs, tables, floor, etc., and even once opened the door for me. And I wasn't the shopper, I was just having fun.

Well, that could be the reason. But, just being curious I checked Five Guys in all states, and zilch. No explanation. I emailed and called MF but so far no reply. I still get Samantha offers and such for other shops. Really wish they would send explanations when things like this happen.

This just happened to me on Friday. Curbside was not available for the location for dinner. All other Five Guys in that area disappeared after I accepted that one, so I couldn't even pick up a dine-in or other shop. Don't see any posted since, so my guess is I got knocked out of that rotation. Very disappointing. sad smiley
Had JITB instead.
