How did the Luxottica eyewear shop turn out?

Several months ago, there was a shop to buy several pairs of glasses online and then to return some of them. There was a lot of discussion about the shop and some skepticism, but these went quickly. For those who did the shop, how did it turn out? Was it worth it? Did you come out ahead and get to keep at least one pair of glasses?

I'm curious about this also.

Funny enough a different MSC (non-US based, and you usually have to email to get assignments) recently started taking feelers for what may be a similar shop (order glasses, return four, get a partial reimbursement for the 5th).

I got the email for the same as NinS looks almost like the same shop. Pay was like $7.50 for each of the 5 sites plus reimbursement for pair you keep.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
Hmmmm.... Is this a Canadian company? The one that reimburses half for airline tickets?
If this is the same company,it was for prescription glasses only so u had to have a prescription.
no not a Canadian one MSF but an international one and no it does not do the half off airline shop. Yes they are prescription glasses.

Okay, that makes me think it is the one in Germany and Switzerland, with a scheduler named Doris.

Stay away from these shops. Its $7.50 per shop and will take you at least 3 hours per shop. You have to fill out surveys on the MSP and client's website and upload screenshots and emails. You have to call, email and chat on each website before you can place the order. The client website survey is partially in French. You have to buy the glasses (about $1K total out of pocket, assume 30 days to return and then you get a refund), then return them (which requires a phone call as they are prescription glasses so you have to call and ask for return approval - which they will try and talk you out of doing), then you send another email and do another online chat, and then you take them back to UPS to return. You do this whole routine 4 times for $7.50 each. You absolutely do not come out ahead. Its a time suck. You can keep one of the pairs of glasses, for which they will reimburse you only $50 - which doesn't cover 1/2 of a pair of prescription glasses. Its absolutely not worth the time and the US scheduler is beyond rude. You are much better off just buying your glasses and saving yourself all the redundant work for less than $10 each.
Thanks for the info., @Cassiespark. I thought the shop covered the cost of a pair of glasses. For only a partial reimbursement and small fee, it does not sound worth it at all. I wonder if the current company that has the shop has the same guidelines/reimbursement/fee.
My experience also! And I wasn't even allowed to keep a pair, since I only got two websites. The two sites I got had very inexpensive glasses so my total was like $30 out of pocket for two pairs on two sites. When I complained to the scheduler about the misunderstanding, she gave me an extra bump but not enough to justify doing this again.
What I am seeing now is you will be assigned UP TO 7 websites to purchase and return. It's possible that you could keep one for reimbursement but it's also possible that all 7 will be returned. And then the pay is only $7.50 each ??? This sounds so terrible I'm shocked.
Oh my that is horrendous. Thank you for the inside scoop. It sure feels like a company taking advantage of shoppers. Gosh and I hate that.

Yup. And the amount of work is just not worth it.
