Shake Shack - wonder how this would have played out as a mystery shop....

What would you have done if you received a funny-tasting shake during a shop, both at the location and come report time? Based on your presumed actions, how how do you think the whole thing would have played out? [nypost.com]

Those shake machines can have dead roaches as well as chemical residue and rotten shake mix. Trust me, I've seen it! They just fall right in and if you don't climb a chair to look inside before filling it, you'll never know.

Okay, that grossed me out for a few seconds, and then I remembered this: [www.youtube.com].

But they add to the flavor

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
I had just done my very first one of these shops right before the whole Rona thing. I will not be at all sad if they don't come back. The report was way too lengthy for a fluffed-up fast food meal.

You hit the nail on the head, sestrahelena! Yes, often the food was very good--esp. the Shroom Burger--but, at almost $20.00 for a basic, one-person meal, this and other "fluffed-up" fast food restaurants are far too over-priced.
I remember one guest I brought to a Shake Shack shop enjoying it immensely but being absolutely stunned that it would have cost him $18 had he purchased it on his own dime.
Watching the link in the original post to see how the story was quickly escalated way beyond the truth and circulated far and wide even by trusted sources. Doesn't anywhere double and triple check their stories before unleashing negative news anymore? Many people only see the original wrong story and pass it on without ever knowing it was retracted or disproved at the end.
As a shopper I hope they reinstate their mystery shop program. That said I find my reimbursed bill always to be way more than I would ever spend. But the calorie count of the meals we are required to order is also way more than I would want to eat so these meals are better off shared between two people.
Did you know the Shake Shack Cookies and Cream Shake is 850 calories, 44 g fat (24 g saturated fat, 0 g trans fat), 580 mg sodium, 98 g carbs (0 g fiber, 86 g sugar), 19 g protein? Think of the lower-fat real food you can eat for those calories!

Not sure if I posted this before in this forum, but I always just taste the shake and then bring home the rest to freeze. I eat portions of it over a period of time just like ice cream.
Oh please, I have no self control and really do not want to know the calories in the shake.lol And if you then add in the calories of the fries with cheese sauce and bacon it is probably a weeks worth of calories. I just always wished I could order the food part and then pick up the shake on the way out so it is not melted. But that approach would not work. And since I am a costco member I never have room in my freezer. But I do often bring along an ice pack and try to put my shake in it after just one taste. Usually it never makes it though. And i think i look funny carrying that around to the restaurant. The shop I do often I have to spend 20 minutes inside after picking up my order and another 20 minutes finding my car so my shake would be liquid by then.

I just planned my diet for a couple of days around my caloric Shake Shack shops

Kathy, are they back where you live? We only have pick up now in restaurants and I have not heard a peep about any of the food shops I used to do.
I haven't heard anything, nor has the scheduler checked on availability. Youngest Son actually went there for dinner a couple of weeks ago and said they had a great system for carry out.

I hope they allow some flexibility with the ordering requirements when they come back. Ordering the bacon cheese fries, fried chicken bites, fried chicken sandwich, and shake of the month was excessive.

I dont mind the big orders if I can take a bunch home. The report is not much worse for a big order but more bang for my buck of work time involved. I would just like to have more flex on which "sandwich" I can order but I understand they want it all to be uniform...testing leaving the same item off or whatever they are trying to test out.
My issue is controlling myself from just eating all those calories in one sitting while I am there....
