Book review $6

This looks like a 10-foot-pole shop. You have to purchase the book, read it, then review it. You get reimbursed $30. Has anyone accepted this shop?

I applied and will decide whether or not to accept once I find out which book I would be assigned. Since I have so much "sittin' around time, if it looks like and interesting book, why not?

I just accepted the shop because I was curious what the book was and enjoy reading. I cannot reveal the book name here but found that $30 will not cover the book purchase and shipping for me in a high tax state. I have sent an email to the scheduler to clarify that the entire cost will be reimbursed. At any fee I am not willing to pay anything at all out of pocket, certainly not for something I was not intending to buy anyway. I will let you know what they say about reimbursing the entire expense.

My first thought was something about politics.

Nope, that was my first thought too. But the book may be interesting to me to read and I plan to donate it to the local high school library after reading it unless it is horrible!!!! It is an adult book (not adult as in x rated but adult as in it is for adults) , not a child or high school level book but something I think would be helpful in their library.

I like to read too. I find it challenging to write narratives when the questions are similar to each other.

The scheduler said they will pay the entire reimbursement so I will go for it. How bad can the questions be from this company? I have not seen them so I am interested in that too.

I have not. I just did a web shop for Intellishop at a similar price and the survey was repetitive. So, I had to think of several ways to say the same thing.

When they have new shops you never know. I have noticed the pay dropping for certain shops for this company and another MSC that has phone and web shops. Maybe, it is Covid-19 related.

Since the client has not been mentioned, would you mind sharing the MSC?

Take the book to Barnes & Noble, grab a coffee, and read it... and do a zero-fee B&N shop while you're there. While checking the bathroom, take some money and flush it down the toilet. Three birds one stone.

Scorn for what others elect to do is not making a positive contribution, IMHO.

Someone asked about the MSC. This MSC is one of the best known and most discussed on this forum.

As for the shop itself. I am an avid reader and I might apply for it. There is a fifty-fifty chance that I will be a paid a few portions of a cent per hour for reading a book that I like or one that I do not like. Either way, writing the review is good exercise in itself. To some, it might seem as worthless as conjugating verbs in other languages. To me, it would be good to write in a proper reviewing style (even if it involves only one language).

I would advise you to wait. Perhaps this job will go up to $7. Barnes and Noble is not open and even if it were my couch is much more comfortable and I have good lighting at home plus I can make coffee. I guess that is why you need to make more money as you spend your income on coffee and gas to get to places like Barnes and Noble and then flush the rest down the proverbial toilet,. Rethink your expenses for relatively inexpensive things you can do at home yourself and you will find $6 will stretch a lot further. Let me know when you are flushing as you can just hand it over to me. I have saved all my life so I can pick and choose the jobs I want and do not need to do this for survival.But I will do the job of accepting your wasted down the toilet money for no fee and laugh all the way to the proverbial bank.

@sandyf Is there a reason you cannot reveal the book title? Is that equivalent to the "client"? I just wish I could know which book I'd have to read before signing up, in case it isn't something I think I could get through.

Would you please share the MSC? The client has not been mentioned.

The MSC is Intellishop. The client, nor the title of the book or any other details have been mentioned in this thread so I think naming the MSC is okay?

Isn't this the same MS that sent an email to its entire database promoting the owners good friend's book and urging us all to read it? Maybe totally not related, but I know when I saw this MS come across I thought for sure it was a way to get people to read the book, write the review, to promote it up on Amazon. Maybe I am being a conspiracy theorist.
