Today started out like crap, but ended up amazing! Story about a bunch of video shops that went wrong but turned profitable in the end.

We're currently on a route and in North Carolina we had a total of 16 shops that we could do today, maybe.

We go to our first one and success. We hit our second and a note is on the door saying they are closed the rest of the day. Nothing unusual yet, but we get to our next shop. (all of these but 3 are same client) and the same thing happens. We check black out dates and nothing is up and decide to keep doing shops as we still get half pay for an attempt.

2.5 hours later our 8 hours of shops and driving is completely done with a total of ELEVEN attempts on different apartments.

Holy. Shite.

When we first started this trip we made an agreement with the MSP that any dry runs we were allowed to make an another attempt on another day. Since we were ahead of schedule tomorrow was a @#$%& off or make up day. However, since we had 11 dry runs, we got everything done today that was on the schedule. However, now we can go back and redo 9 of those 11 locations.

This ended up making us an extra 310 bucks all for the low low cost of 3 hours of time.

It helps we had flexibility to do work on another day (we scheduled the trip to have built in 4 or 5 "flex" days already) but it's not always a bad thing when stuff goes wrong. Being able to get the other shops done that we'd have had to skip if not for today being so fast was a nice bonus and we're using some of the extra income to check out the Biltmore Mansion and Estates on Sunday now =)

Too bad it's raining and we'll probably spring for a hotel and not the van tonight.

Whee. So two more dry runs on the redos. One of which we were able to schedule 3 hours later so we'll get paid a dry run for a second time, and a full charge for the successful shop.

Beyond that we're on track to finish every single one that was attempted yesterday.

Raleign Beer Garden will be our reward when this is all done tongue sticking out smiley Outdoor seating, good weather today, and 380 beers on hand which is supposed to be the guiness world record for # of beers on tap at one place if I recall correctly.
