It may seem to you there are two main platforms but in reality for me those are only occasionally used by me. There are many platforms as Walesmaven said and really as you become more familiar with the individual companies you will understand their rhythms of postings or assignments (and that’s not to say there won’t be many more random opportunities here and there too).
Piggy backing on what walesmaven said about it being worthwhile to sign up for all and any companies regardless of your current opinion of what they have or have not...I have been a mystery shopper for 21 years now...and about ten years in I did my one and only shop for a company and one of my most profitable in terms if time and effort. It paid 150.00 in two days (and it did) for me to buy perfume from a mall store, take a picture of it, lose track of it and have my shopping partner (in this case my home from college daughter return it to the store telling them she found it in the food court). It was to test the honesty of the employee (I believe). At any rate the whole shop took maybe ten minutes including the time I inputted it in the mall food court waiting for my daughter to return, paid 150.00 within two days (made my daughter happy to get her 75.00 share of it). The company is still in business and really has “nothing” in my area but that one email and shop was well worth my time.
